Short Hills Business Trip

Hilton Short Hills is a great choice for business travel.
The rooms are comfortable and quiet, the workspace is practical, and the Wi‑Fi is reliable.
The staff is professional and efficient, which makes check‑in and day‑to‑day needs easy. I attended an event at the hotel that was so well run and professional. Excellent service and organization. The location is convenient for meetings in the area, and having the mall nearby is a nice bonus for quick meals or errands. Overall, a smooth, comfortable stay that works well.

AVOID-can’t use amenities until room is ready, rude staff

Just left an overnight stay at this hotel for my daughter’s 10th birthday. We booked a junior suite for $450 for the night. We checked in at 11am with full anticipation that the room would not be ready and we would store our luggage and enjoy the indoor/outdoor pool while we wait. I was informed that we were NOT allowed to use ANY amenities until our room was ready. I have NEVER heard of a policy like that. Traveling the world, and owning a travel company where we have 6,000 plus client a year (have even used Hilton in NYC in the past for business) I was dumbfounded. So if the rooms not ready until 4pm and checkout is 11am that’s the only access. Completely absurd. I asked multiple people through the day (nail salon, family, friends) and not a SINGLE person had ever heard of such a policy. Luckily after being visually upset a manager allowed us access (after a rude check in person tried to charge me $35 to check in-which I also refused) the girls got to enjoy the pool. I went to order lunch (was told the outdoor bar opened at 12) at 12:20 it finally opened and the bartender took our order-we were first in line (all non alcoholic) and told me to come back for drinks. I came 10 mins later and he was helping multiple other patrons and hadn’t started our order. At 12:45 a manager came by and told me the fryer wasn’t working. Had to scramble to feed four 10 year olds. Also, would be a nice perk to offer free coffee for guests at $450 a night. Complete disappointment will never come back. Hiltons brand is complete garbage.

Room was large and clean. Staff was friendly. This hotel was historically one of the finest in NJ. The property overall was very tired and dirty. Also not happy with the surprise charge for overnight parking fee of $24 daily which was NOT listed on the Hotels.com site. ( only said parking available). I would NOT have chosen this property if I knew about the parking fee. Very disappointed and a waste of my reward points on this booking.

We loved it

We had a wonderful stay at Hilton Short Hills. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and all of the staff were friendly and welcoming.
A special thank you to Samantha at the front desk. She was exceptionally helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Although disposable flip-flops are not typically provided at many hotels in the U.S., she quickly arranged a pair for us as soon as we requested them and followed up promptly to make sure everything was taken care of. Her professionalism and genuine care made a real difference to our experience.
We truly appreciated the excellent service and would be happy to stay here again.

The check in lady was incompetent and super rude, borderline aggressive. I hope this Hilton will take employee training seriously otherwise they will start losing business
