Incredible
Chose Crosswinds because of their pet friendly policy. What i was met with was an incredible experience of welcome and warmth. In an area filled with rooming as far as the eye can see, Crosswinds goes the extra mile to make sure guests are comfortable. There is no question, myself and everyone i know will be staying here when we visit OOB.
Vacations/traveling can be stressful enough and this place is a sure thing. I know when I vacation to this area i will be certain of where i stay.
The room was clean upon arrival and I was personally asked every day if I needed something. I cant explain enough how important that is and how many OTHER places don't do the same.

Relaxing trip
Cute Hotel needs a little updating but you are really not in the room you are out shopping going to the restaurants bars and visiting other towns the hotel was nice heated pool close to everything especially the beach which is 50 ft a 2-minute walk the owner is very friendly otherwise we had a wonderful time and we were at our dog which is pet friendly there's not much to say about the hotel just needs a little update the cottage was cute inside number 21 just enough room for two people

Very accommodating
So my girlfriend and I stayed here with our 2 girls in October because of the proximity to the soccer tournament in nearby Sanford. Upon arrival at approximately 730pm we were welcome by one of the owners who politely explained that our room is actually 2 rooms that they had put together to accommodate the 2 girls; which was perfect because it added an extra bathroom. With key in hand we went off to our room to unpack....the room was very small but extremely clean; one double bed. The other room had 2 small single beds and again small but very clean. Brand new refrigerator TV and microwave. Our stay was for 3 nights and the bill was only 260 bucks. It is obvious this place has been there a while and probably had its fair share of ownership. But the service at the counter was great and very accommodating.
The only thing we had issues with is how extremely small it is. It seemed like we were in each other’s way all the time. And the heat did not work so we were given a small space heater to use. Typically these motels are closed for the season by October. So it is understood the heaters probably aren’t used often and probably not maintained on a regular basis. The owner did explain this was their first year owning the Crosswinds and will more than likely not be open in October next season.
I would give this place a 3.5 if I could. During the summer I’m sure it serves its purpose for beach goers and bar hoppers as a place to shower, sleep and use the bathroom.

Fine, but wow - smoke!
The motel is right on the main strip, a 30-second walk to the beach, so you can't beat the location. The service was fine, and I like that each room has a little table and chairs outside it. The room was outdated in terms of furnishings, but comfortable and clean. The thing we couldn't get past was all the smoking. We couldn't enjoy sitting out at our little table set because everyone around us was out there chain smoking. It made for a bizarre experience.

Overnight Getaway
Pros: Room was clean and spacious. Each room has a TV, free WiFi, a refrigerator and microwave. The location is great, just one block from the beach. I did not go swimming but there is a heated outdoor pool with a picnic area. Friendly staff.
Cons: Smokers all over. Room, although large, reminded me of large jail cell, with minimal lighting. Not much privacy and the way the rooms are laid out, people walk back and forth past your room all day which makes it noisy.
