My first thought was that the room was in need of refurbishing--fresh paint and carpeting to freshen/lighten the atmosphere. I noticed subsequently that the seating in the lobby was likewise worn, with no plump left in the sofa cushions. I had a modest room that with just enough space for me to walk on both sides of the king-sized bed without bumping up against the walls. In view of the nearly $1300 a night room rate, I thought it not unreasonable of me to expect complementary bottled water and perhaps a shower cap and Q-tips in the bathroom.

Fun hotel and great location in Old Port.

Very comfortable. Great location. Creative newspaper theme throughout the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Big rooms.

Love the Press Hotel

We had another fabulous stay at the Press Hotel in Portland. We’ve stayed many times over the past several years, and I’m never disappointed. The rooms are stylish and always immaculate. The food is excellent, and though there are many restaurants in Portland, we often choose to eat at the hotel because it’s so good.
Azzeddine at the front desk is particularly welcoming and helpful. He is so pleasant at check in, always going above and beyond to greet guests, recognize Marriott status, and he works hard to make sure the room is perfect. Roxwell in Union Restaurant is so personable and attentive; taking care of each guest with a giant smile. Melissa is an excellent server in the restaurant as well. Austin, the valet, is always friendly, and super quick whenever we ask for our car.
The Press Hotel is one of our very favorite hotels. With the excellent service, friendly staff, great food, and beautiful rooms, there’s no place we’d rather stay when we visit Portland.

Perfect hotel

This hotel was absolutely perfect. The staff couldn’t not have been more wonderful at check-in, to set the tone. The space is gorgeous, rooms are really nice and the location is so centrally located. Loved our stay !

Would def come back!

Exactly what you expect from a top rated boutique hotel- in all the best ways. Front desk staff was always so friendly. Union restaurant manager was someone who would stand out in any setting! The doormen especially Osamah and Marty- the best!!
Kaymen, the bartender in the lobby- awesome.
It’s a place where you stay for a few days and you miss the staff when you leave.
