A Boutique Hotel That Feels Like an Escape to England

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Cheshire St. Louis was one of the highlights of our visit to St. Louis and the perfect way to begin our nine-day Midwest road trip.
We stayed in the James Bond Suite, which was much larger than expected and tastefully themed. The décor celebrated the iconic spy without feeling over-the-top, and the suite provided plenty of space to relax after a day of sightseeing.
What surprised me most, however, was the hotel itself. The moment we walked into the lobby, it felt like we had been transported to England. From the stained-glass windows and rich woodwork to the cozy sitting areas and British-inspired décor, the atmosphere was warm, elegant, and incredibly inviting.
The location is excellent for exploring St. Louis. Forest Park is just minutes away, the Delmar Loop is nearby, and downtown attractions—including the Gateway Arch—are an easy drive. We also appreciated the complimentary parking and the continental breakfast each morning before heading out to explore.
One afternoon we relaxed by the outdoor pool in a private cabana, which made the stay feel more like a boutique resort than a city hotel.
As a travel photographer, I found myself taking nearly 80 photos around the property because there were beautiful architectural details and inviting spaces everywhere I looked.
If you're looking for a hotel with character, charm, and a unique atmosphere, I highly recommend The Cheshire St. Louis. It's more than just a place to stay—it becomes part of the overall travel experience. We would absolutely stay here again and look forward to trying another one of the hotel's themed suites on a future visit.

Love this hotel! We enjoyed the British author concept. We learned about the author for our room and the books he wrote. The room was decorated in era form. This was a great stay. Breakfast was the best. I would stay again when we visit St Louis. Thanks

Arrive late and staff was very accommodating and friendly. Woke up the next morning and noticed how dirty the room was. Hair on the bathroom floor, dirty silverware between the bed and night table that was covered in a thick layer of dust that also surrounded the edge and underneath the beds. A new package of fake press on nails behind the television also covered by a thick layer of dust. Amazing breakfast pastry selection and baskets off fresh fruit throughout the lobby.

The Cheshire is our home away from home in St Louis. We’ve stayed here at least seven times in the last thirteen years and have never been disappointed. The location is so central with great highway access that it’s hard to be more than twenty minutes from most places to visit.

For cleanliness I give it about a 6.5/10. Definitely wear socks on the carpet. The staff were wonderful! The pool is nice. The breakfast is really good too. If you’re looking for a quick trip (we stayed 3 nights) it’s a great hotel to stay
