Nice Hotel

This is a nice, budget friendly, hotel with a central location in Ruidoso. The rooms are clean and spacious. The included breakfast is what you would expect, with the nice addition of tamales. Rose, at the front desk, is especially friendly and helpful. We'll be back.

Terrible experience

My recent stay at this Best Western Plus was incredibly disappointing and nowhere near the standard expected of the brand name. While the front desk initially accommodated our request for a room change to get a better view before we checked in, everything went downhill as soon as we entered the second room.
​The room was in terrible condition. The carpet was coming off along the edges, the walls were stained, the desk was covered in dust, and the sink was cracked with visible caulk. The tub had excessive caulk around the fixtures, and the room felt warm, humid, and smelled strongly of mildew. To make matters worse, the toilet bubbled as if something was backed up. When I attempted to use the shower by pulling the bottom tub faucet mechanism, the entire knob began coming off in my hand.
​I recorded a short video gently showing the loose knob and went downstairs purely to inform management about the room's condition and the broken fixture, not to demand a refund. Instead of taking accountability, the night manager immediately became defensive, accusing me of breaking the fixture myself simply because I gently demonstrated the issue in the video. After I explained the situation again alongside the other room defects, he passive-aggresively offered a room move with a distinct attitude. The night front desk staff member was equally unhelpful, answering basic questions with "I don't know." The night crew lacked professionalism and basic customer service training.
​While the third room was passable, the tub was still dirty. The overall property is poorly maintained. The indoor pool area was unpleasant, featuring a dirty, green-tinted pool, non-working hot tub jets, greasy floors, and windows caked in dirt. Breakfast at 7:00 AM was equally disappointing, featuring old-tasting food and dirty, almost empty topping jars.
​There was nothing "Plus" about this experience. Save your money and book a cabin or a reputable hotel elsewhere instead.

Hospitality

We just want to say a big thank you to Ali at the front desk! She was very professional, kind, and helpful throughout our stay.
Unfortunately, the first room assigned to us had a strong smell and a few things that didn’t meet our expectations. As soon as we brought it to Ali’s attention, she stepped up right away and transferred us to a new room. She even made sure the bathroom was clean and that we were comfortable with our new room.
We truly appreciate her kindness, professionalism, and great customer service. Good people like Ali can really make a difference in a guest’s experience. Thank you, Ali! ❤️

Unfortunately, my stay was not very comfortable. The bed was too hard, the room key card reader repeatedly didn’t work, and the refrigerator was so loud it made it difficult to sleep. I hope these issues can be addressed for future guests.
