A somewhat challenging stay but overall was OK

I booked a stay at this location in mid-September, 2025. I booked via bringfido.com and they do permit pets, but there is nothing about the property that particularly caters to animals.
There are no staff at the property itself, so how they would have assessed the optional $25 per pet, per night fee is unclear to me). This wasn't really an issue in the end, because I decided not to take my pet with me.
After booking with bringfido.com, I had to complete a second registration using their own system (and was made to answer a convoluted set of questions using a very clunky software system, provide a copy of my ID and was then required to pay an extra $100 security deposit).
On the morning of my stay, I still had not received any arrival instructions. When I finally heard from them, they claimed I had not completed this (but they then immediately found it, including a copy of my ID, so obviously I had done it). I then had to repeat the security deposit transaction, and send them a signed letter because their own registration systems were broken and I could not complete the final sign-up.
After that I did get the arrival instructions but even those were slightly weird, with a request that I take responsibility for the use of appliances in the common areas(which I challenged immediately, as I did not feel able to take responsible for the conduct of other guests). I also received a slightly weird request that guests remove their shoes. Fine I suppose, but c’mon.
During my stay I had another resident knocking on my door wanting help to fix his iPhone. I didn’t mind that so much but it’s kinda odd. If I was a single female traveller, it would probably have been unwelcome.
More troubling was another guest (Manav?) who got into an angry confrontation in the corridor with another resident, because he didn’t want to share the (shared) bathroom with other people and left a note on the bathroom telling others to 'keep out'.
Looking at the other guests I encountered, this seems like a good place for young software engineers coming to SF for adhoc contract work, but whilst the property is nice (It’s really just a family house with locks on the interior doors) its not really competently set up as accommodation for travellers and their pets.
The room itself was nice. A little damage that I reported. Linens and towels were clean and of good quality. I want to be fair, so am adding a star for this.
Finally, they withheld my security deposit without explanation and stopped responding to me on this topic. Ultimately I had to ask my credit card company to do a chargeback, which they did.
Overall, I would avoid this place unless you are really desperate for a pet-friendly place near SFO. It's affordable but not especially so, considering all the aggravations described above.

It was very peaceful and comfortable. Very quiet. I regrettably ended up getting taken away in an ambulance, and all of my stuff practically got abandoned on the front lawn. I was so hurt and incoherent, that I neglected to contact the property, and give some kind of insight into why my things were left behind. I was literally on the brink of death, in need of a blood transfusion. According to the policy, any items left behind are held for up to seven days. I really hope this is true, because I’m still in the hospital since yesterday afternoon, and I would really like to retrieve my only belongings on this planet 😓

It was good although it becomes annoying due to upstair floor is loud enough when people walked.
