Such a nice quiet place to stay. The staff is very nice and helpful. The Asiatic is in a perfect spot for multiple things to do around New York. This was my second stay at this hotel and it won't be my last.

We were seeing My Chemical Romance at CitiField, and the location was perfect, within a reasonably close walk. Noon checkout meant we could have a stress-free lie-in. Check in and -out was friendly and efficient.
The rooms were cool and clean - and even had a real kettle, a bonus for me, since many American chains don't have them. The aircon on a muggy August night was a real boon.
The streets are busy and there's no parking at the hotel, but there are a number of lots close by. Even with the proximity to La Guardia the rooms weren't too noisy.

Great location for a Mets game. Easy 7 train access. Or a 20 min walk. And only 1 or 2 transfers from jfk and Lga.

Good value for money 40 min from TS
I chose this hotel during my 8 night stay in NY mainly because of the good value for money as staying in Manhattan in December was way out of our budget.
PROS: subway at 7 min walk and very quiet location in a fully Chinese neighborhood in Queens. Supermarket (Chinese) within walking distance. Clean hotel, large rooms (ours had a nice big window overlooking the city, fridge, kettle and microwave), surprisingly warm water which was very rejuvenating after a day out in the cold.
Large and comfortable bed.
Breakfast included in the price.
We always found someone at reception, although we never came home after midnight.
CONS: it is a very basic hotel.
Cleaning service must be requested every morning if desired.
Our TV and phone in the room were not working.
The breakfast room is extremely small with only 5 tables (very few for a hotel that has 9 floors of rooms), when it filled up (which happened very easily) you could sit at the entrance but in front of the main access door that was open all the time. Breakfast is very minimal, has very little variety and is not the classic continental breakfast (they are more Chinese varieties than Western). Breakfast staff does not speak English.
There are only Chinese bars and restaurants in the area.
It is 35/40 min from Times Square, we chose it consciously so we did not weigh the subway ride except in the evening when we were very tired. However, to get to other places in Manhattan the journey lengthens considerably until it takes 1 hour. I therefore do not recommend it to those who are willing to pay more but with the convenience of being in the center (even for a simple afternoon restorative ascent).

For this to be continental breakfast, they have a policy where you can’t take your food up to your room, whoever heard of a hotel where you can’t take your food up to your room to eat, but you can bring outside food into the hotel. Also with the TV is very small like a 24 inch and it’s hard to control the temperature in the room with the thermostat is either too cold or too hot .
