BEWARE!!
This hotel has serious issues with billing practices, customer service, and accountability. I have never experienced anything like this in years of travel. BEWARE!
I have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the years while visiting Rapid City for my stepdaughters’ school events. It has typically been reasonably priced, conveniently located, and generally clean, with a nice pool area (though the rooms are quite dated). Unfortunately, our most recent stay was a very different experience.
At check-in, the front desk employee (Chastity) repeatedly insisted that our rooms had already been paid for and refused to allow us to use a different card. I knew this was incorrect, but after going back and forth, we were left with no option but to proceed. As expected, the full charge was later posted to my debit card, creating an immediate issue.
When I returned to address this, I was again told nothing could be done. I requested to speak with a manager and was given only an email address, which the two emails I've sent never received a response at the time of this review. I then had to scramble to ensure sufficient funds were in my account to cover the unexpected charge.
Lesson learned: Do NOT use a debit card at this property.
The issues didn’t stop there. On the second day, we followed instructions to leave used towels for replacement, but our rooms were never serviced. When we later requested towels, we were told there were only four clean towels left in the entire hotel and were required to sign for them. The pool area had no clean towels either.
After returning home, the most serious issue arose: I discovered my card had been charged three separate times—one full charge and two additional charges of $228.88 each, totaling over $900 a two-night, two-room stay.
When I contacted the hotel, I again reached the same front desk employee, who was unable to assist. The following day, I spoke with a manager who acknowledged only one duplicate charge and stated a refund had been issued (with a 7–10 business day delay). However, he denied seeing the second duplicate charge, despite clear evidence of three transactions on my account, and ultimately directed me to resolve the issue with my bank.
I have traveled extensively and have never experienced such disorganized and concerning billing practices. Between the refusal to correct payment methods, lack of communication, inadequate housekeeping, and unresolved duplicate charges, this experience was extremely disappointing.
Proceed with caution when booking at this property. Do not use a debit card here and check your statements carefully. We will see if I ever get my refund of $457. I'm not optimistic.

Pretty hotel but not good service for guests
Hi, My husband and I are leaving a review for your hotel. We thought it was a very pretty hotel. But there were some problems while staying here. First of all, our room was not stocked with all the necessities; not enough toilet paper, not enough kleenex, not enough towels at all, no hand soap, except for miniature soap that was facial soap and not hand soap; also not enough cups for coffee or for the bathroom.
Also, the breakfast was terrible; I didn't go down for breakfast, but my husband said the portions for breakfast were very small; just kid size portions only. Not big enough for adult size portions for everything. That is unfortunate that he had to try to find a place with a good breakfast!
And also, our tub was filling up with extra water - a drain clog, when you try to take a shower. We let the front desk know and they put in a work order about it. But no one ever fixed it. And when we checked out, we told the man at the front desk and he put in another work order. So who knows if it got fixed or not!
Our stay could have been a lot better if we did not have these problems. Like we mentioned, it is a pretty hotel and old fashioned. But there were some problems; so we will stay at another hotel if we have to come back to Rapid City and find a hotel.
This was a moving trip to the city, not a vacation. And the next time we will be in Rapid City we will be moving there with a home to rent or buy and we will not be staying in a hotel. That is our goal.

BED BUGS
Place is infested with bed bugs and they are aware of it. Unfriendly staff and will not refund or accommodate you for their bed bugs.

Go look before you book!
The hotel says it’s “under new management” on its marquee.
It DOES need a make over. The pictures on TripAdvisor were accurate. The rooms are dark and dated with carpet, old drapes, and lots of dander. They’re not for people who have allergies or who use inhalers. There were about 25 motorcycles there as well. One of the elevators was out of order. It was Labor Day weekend and the rates were double at all the hotels due to this, and the room was non-refundable.
We only stayed one night which made it doable under the circumstances.

Worst hotel experience
We booked this stay for August 2025 and the hotel is not as it is portrayed in the online pictures. The rooms were horrible. Chairs had tears in the arm rests. Carpet looked nasty. Very disappointed. And they charged us a $10/night destination fee on top of the nightly charge. The outside door had signs that it locked at night however it was never locked to ensure your safety.
