Paws up for 1906 Pine Crest Inn

This was my second visit at this lovely inn, which is a wonderful option for those traveling with dogs. Beautiful property to walk a dog. Friendly, helpful staff. Unfortunately the scrumptious restaurant was closed on the second visit. Still, a winner

Bait and Switch

Awful. Do not waste your money here. False advertising. The website should be taken down. No restaurant or bar as advertised. Run down. Musty rooms. The owners have let this place fall apart since they purchased it. I hope someone new will buy it and restore it to its glory days.

Do not enter.

I made a reservation for the Stone Cottage. My cc was Immediately charged for the full night. I also immediately received a text that the gourmet breakfast was not available but a continental breakfast was. I was trying to be forgiving bc of COVID, etc.
I started having doubts before leaving and contacted the b and b at night. There was an answering service.
I then sent a text the next morning. I inquired about the wifi and the bar service. THERE IS NONE.
This property is also for sale.
I reached out to have my cc refunded. No response from the innkeeper.

Check this one Carefully

We booked a suite at this inn for a weekend with a promise of a bottle of wine in our room, access to a tavern and a gourmet breakfast. Had a note a week before that we would have a continental breakfast instead of a hot gourmet breakfast due to “staffing issues.” Then got a call a couple days before we left telling us they would not be able to provide the wine because their liquor license had not been renewed. Finally, tried to make reservations in their restaurant, based on a post of the July menu on their website and discovered the restaurant was closed because they had lost their chef. The reality was a suite with a window air conditioner that barely kept up with the heat, no restaurant, no internet, and a breakfast of cold cereal and cold plastic wrapped supermarket cinnamon rolls. An no apology! I would avoid this place like the plague, unless I had very strong evidence of a change!

BUYER BEWARE- They do not have amenities as advertised!

I arrived after a long journey from the West Indies to handle our house in Tryon which had been destroyed by a burst pipe. I even noted this on the reservation directly on their website. Obviously it was crucial for me to have Internet while at the hotel. My cell service didn’t work there. They had plenty of time to inform me prior to arrival but instead strung me along, saying it was being fixed. Along with waiting until I arrived before letting me know there was no hot breakfast. “BED AND BREAKFAST without breakfast ?” Other reviews reveal they never have either yet continue to advertise as such! Had they been honest I would have checked out immediately, instead it caused me to miss meetings and rendered my entire trip useless. If you are not going to provide the services you advertise ( THEY CONTINUE TO SHOW BREAKFAST AND WI-FI AS BEING AVAILABLE ON THEIR WEBSITE AS WELL AS OTHERS) then you know you’re being FRAUDULENT. Other reviews mention the dilapidated state of the property, which is quite depressing. Better to close down until the hotel is at least in an acceptable condition plus operational, instead of destroying the reputation forever. I requested appropriate compensation but my text was ignored. Will dispute through AMX. Creepy place, got many spider bites.
