A cozy gem in the Northern Neck
The Inn is simply beautiful. Light and airy with a lovely courtyard and ample places to sit. The owners have thought of absolutely everything to make your stay enjoyable. Off the street parking is a further plus. Quant little restaurants all in walking distance

I’m home!!
Our stay was PERFECT! The attention to detail is impeccable. The owners went out of their way to make this Inn feel like home away from home. Great walking area, great restaurants and shopping. I highly recommend!!

A very personalized and wonderful experience! The owners are true hosts!!!
We just finished a short stay the the Chesapeake Inn, and once again it was a fantastic and personal experience. This is our second stay and it is great to see the continuous improvements that Gari and Matt are making to the historic property. The owners meet with you (and remembered us from our previous stay), and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The room was decorated beautifully, was spotlessly clean and had every amenity you may require (thank you for the basket of snacks!!!!). The courtyard has comfortable outdoor furniture and we were able to enjoy a glass of wine while a solo bagpiper warmed up and that was truly a special experience. During our stay the town was hosting a St Patrick’s Day themed town-wide event (Leprechauns and Libations Stroll). The Inn was the start point and registering for the event and going on our way with map and wineglass in hard was effortless. I cannot emphasize enough how gracious hosts Gari and Matt are, we travel with an elderly puppy and the Inn is perfect for her, nice grass to lay in, a fluffy bed, a nice size water bowl, homemade treats, and no stairs to negotiate. The owners are highly engaged in supporting the community and we find this VERY important. I truly cannot imagine our stay having been any better.

Very nice!
Wonderful small boutique hotel. The owners are obviously passionate about their inn... very clean and full of personal touches. Several small restaurants and bars within a short walk. We stumbled across this spot looking for a last minute place to stay and will definitely be back :)

Urbanna's Chesapeake Inn Shines During 2025 Oyster Festival
We stayed at the Chesapeake Inn for two nights during the 2025 Urbanna Oyster Festival and we could not have asked for better accommodations. From the warm welcome when we checked in to the morning that we left, the Inn staff made our first ever Oyster Festival experience a resounding success! We had a beautiful large room with a king size bed covered with comfortable pillows, sheets and a warm comforter. The whole room was clean, bright, quiet and tastefully decorated. There were so many personal touches such as a gift bag of Oyster Festival goodies, cozy robes, snacks, coffee supplies in cute canvas bags as well as magazines, books and brochures about the festival and the Town of Urbanna. There was even a small umbrella provided in the room in case there was inclement weather! For the first night, staff from the Inn placed benches along the street so that guests could watch the Firemen's Parade in comfort. After walking around the Festival all day, we appreciated their thoughtfulness so much! The Inn features a gorgeous courtyard with plenty of chairs to relax in if you need a break or just want to read in quiet surroundings. The lobby is large with inviting chairs and coffee available around the clock. If you're planning to visit Urbanna or participate in future Oyster Festivals, I highly recommend staying at the Chesapeake Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
