Sheets on the second bed had obvious stains making us wonder about overall cleanliness of the bed we used. Breakfast was great!

Room was clean but ac didn’t work properly and
Amenities such as the closet, the bathroom and the little hook up for the iron needed to be all replaced. Other than that the maintenance was OK on the room still a good stay had a good night sleep.

Room had a smell when we first got in, had to buy Fe breeze. Shower had three shampoos, had to go downstairs to get body wash and conditioner. Elevators don’t work in the mornings so you have to take the stairs. Had a 5/5 experience last July 2025 but wasn’t the same this time. All staff member were friendly and helpful so I will give it another try; it could have been just a one time thing. 3/5 stars.

I rarely write reviews. Hotels.com doesnt you enough space to write your full experience. Not only would I avoid this hotel at all costs, but I would also avoid Hotels.com. LA Quinta and Hotels.com has lost a customer.

Steer clear of this place...

I rarely write reviews. As a world travel for over 50 years, I simply don't have the time or motivation to do so. However, in this case, I am motivated by the great distinction between rating this a 2 or 3 star rating and its actual one star performance. We booked this hotel months ago as part of a 3 week road trip. Reviews seemed acceptable. When we arrived in the afternoon only the managers old mercedes was parked outside... suspicious for a hotel on the !-10 corridor in East TX with many other hotels at this exit. Where is everyone? Our encounter at the front desk was cordial and we were given the keys to a first floor room. The keys did not work, a second set did not work, an attempt by the front desk with their keys for a third time did not work. We were then given a room on the 2nd floor where the keys were hit and miss AND a screaming baby was across the hall. The room reeked of what was probably Fabulosa.... another caution sign for travels. If it reeks of cleaning fluids its probably not a good room. We approached the desk once again and this time was given the keys to another first floor room that didn't smell quite as bad and the keys actually worked. By this time I wanted to bolt but the room was prepaid for 2 nights which I would lose if I went to another place that night (I was sorely tempted). But we settled in with two or three other guests at most. Morning takes us to the hot breakfast which was your typical over cooked scrambled eggs, rubbery sausage(?) patties and left over potatoes. As a result the lone waffle machine was mobbed. Juice was more water flavored orange and some other red stuff. Coffee was prepared elsewhere and probably should have been left there. A few slices of stale bread, an ancient ice pastry... you get the picture. The eating area was manned by the front desk clerk who may have made one appearance. No other staff, including room cleaning services were observed in our 2 night stay. Let's turn to the general condition of the hotel... old and need of major deferred maintenance everywhere you look. I'll mention just a few things here: water pressure was abysmal in our room both at the sink and shower. The toilet required several attempts to fully flush (searching social media suggests this is an ongoing problem at this hotel). In the breakfast area, vinyl covers on seating areas were ripped and torn. I noticed an outlet on the serving counter was blown out as if a large electric short had occurred. The hotels fix? Move the toaster over to cover the outlet... don't even replace the outlet for safety purposes. I photographed much. So, my advice here is to steer far clear of this hotel for safety, comfort, eating and security reasons. Too many other choices nearby to settle here. One wonders about the owner/manager of this place... absolutely no attention to making this a warm, welcoming, fully working, secure hotel with an edible breakfast to start your day. My experience in thousands of rooms around the world in over 50 years of traveling is this place is focused on profit, not customers. Steer clear regardless of price. If I were LaQuinta, I'd pull my brand name.
