We'll be back at the Grand Hotel

A magnificent hotel with a slightly outdated decor but with all modern comforts... we feel immersed in the 50s...we loved...the staff is very caring....the location is ideal on the island in the middle of the danube, in the city without the noises

I highly recommend this lovely property, especially for the price! Staff are very kind and helpful, and the pool areas are just lovely! We had an insane heatwave during our stay and relaxing in the pool on the roof was a must! My teenagers loved the breakfast buffet as did I! The island is quiet and green and a bit “off” if you’re doing a lot of the tourist sights but the bus is close to the hotel and will connect you to anything! We did that every day. The only downside is that it’s not easy to find a restaurant outside of the hotel for (later) dinners. But again, if you are willing to take the bus you’ll be fine. I’d happily stay here again!

Lovely classy hotel

Wonderful location for a really beautiful old world hotel. We were here for a wedding anniversary celebrating 10 years and we had been at the same hotel for the wedding a decade ago. The public areas of the hotel are really very pleasant in a high class, low-key sort of way. The staff on the whole are really nice and friendly (by Hungarian standards). The room was fine, some rather shabby furniture and a particularly grotty fridge with some compartments that were falling to pieces. Nothing too bad, but could definitely do with some attention I would say. The swimming pool and spa were really nice. The staff were very helpful, once pressed they put us in touch with a brilliant cruise provider for a trip on the Danube. The best thing about the hotel though is its location - in such a scene of utter peace and tranquility, but just a five or 10 minute drive from the center of a really bustling interesting city.

Lovely hotel we had a beautiful room with a balcony and a lovely gift for my birthday. The island is a lovely area of Budapest with plenty going on for all ages and easy to access the rest of Budapest. The hotel had very limited facilities no bar at all other than a small restaurant outside, which had limited food and a bit pricey, but the sister hotel was more modern and had loads of facilities with an excellent spa and outdoor pool and sunbathing area.

Nice hotel on the lovely Margaret island. We enjoyed the spa with different pools and saunas, our kids really liked the pool outside on the rooftop.
Good breakfast with many options.
Helpful staff and overall a good experience!
I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I visited Budapest another time.
A lot to discover on the island, quiet and peaceful while still close to the city.
