A night in Belle Époque style!
On Sunday, July 12, we decided to stay overnight in Sopron. Given the central historic building where the hotel was located, we went in and booked directly at the front desk.
We were amazed by the atmosphere inside, by the retro-style decor of the many rooms, in particular the entrance and the breakfast room, very charming.
All around are lush plants and, for those who prefer modernity, there is a fitness room, spa, sauna, and gym (for a fee) as well as a bar terrace. The room immediately assigned to us by a kind young lady was dated but renovated, very large, with a sitting area, minibar, and a small balcony overlooking the main street. The bathroom had no window or bidet but it was also very spacious, well-ventilated, and with an efficient shower.
Soft towels in the right quantity, and hygiene products, including single-use ones. Bathrobe available for potential spa use. At night we did not hear any annoying noises from either the neighboring rooms or the street below. We used their parking lot, from which you can access the hotel directly. There is the possibility of parking on the street, if you can find a spot, right in front of the entrance,
we do not know how payment is handled for street parking.
The breakfast included in the price is a buffet. It is not a huge buffet but there are also local foods, more savory than sweet, in a lounge that is a real gem.

Ideal.
Perfect, city center with parking and breakfast. Huge building, and very quiet. The reception is a bit slow but very attentive. The wifi is okay; there is no refrigerator in the room. I would return; however, good value for money. SOPRON is worth it.

Excellent
I was there 2 times in 1 month, with my family and alone because of my exams. It was very pleasant for us,mainly the wellness for me, and the fittness for my son and husband:) And the christmas ambiance of course in december:)

Wonderful location, nice rooms and amazing breakfast
The hotel was excellent, and we had a wonderful time there. It is in the city center, so you can easily access all the tourist spots, restaurants or pastry shops. The fitness room is peaceful and has brand new machines. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the room was very clean. I would especially emphasize the delicious breakfast, which featured specialties that cannot be enjoyed in other hotels.

The Buddenbrooks.
The hotel already has a certain charm of the Buddenbrooks! So shine and decline lie side by side. Already 10 years ago and more, people criticized the unappetizing carpeting, the loud ventilation, the walls in need of renovation - you probably have to overlook it. Even if there is no room service this is normal , because you have to register it at the reception! Or you can just make your own bed!
Even if the decor has seen better times and probably lacks the funds for a basic renovation , you get the impression in the breakfast room that immediately crowned heads rush in!
The staff is extremely friendly and attentive and cleans the dishes used immediately.
The location to the city center is perfect.
Our room 325 was very quiet to the rear and even had a balcony.
The category 4 stars should be forgotten.
