Super location, but noisy

Friendly, welcoming staff. Great location a few minutes walk from the railway station , close to the sea and lots of restaurants.
Room, bed and bathroom ok.
Upon booking, it was stated «soundproof room». This normally mens no or very little noise. My room was facing a very busy street, and I could here everything. NOT soundproof at all. I slept on and off both nights, so sleep quality was very poor.
For this reason, and this reason only, I would not stay here again.

Unacceptable

Our stay at the hotel was a huge disappointment. The photos presented on the Internet do not in any way correspond to the actual picture of the room delivered to us. We felt we were misled, as what we faced was far from what we had chosen at the time of booking.
The most important problem was that the room was completely unsuitable for a family with a baby. The conditions provided neither the safety nor the comfort required to accommodate a small child. The situation was so bad that we had to leave the hotel, as we could not stay there with our baby.
Although we left due to the inadequacy of the room, we were not refunded, nor was any attempt made to compensate or find a substantial solution. We consider this attitude unacceptable and completely unprofessional.
The only positive experience was the receptionist, who was polite, willing and did everything he could to serve us. Unfortunately, his personal effort could not offset the inappropriate condition of the room and the way the hotel managed our problem.
We would never choose this particular hotel again and in no case would recommend it, especially to families with infants. We hope our review will serve as a warning to other travellers and an excuse for the hotel to take responsibility.

Avoid !!!!!!!!!!! Not for family!!!!! Loud !!!!!!!

The worst" hotel" I have ever stayed in. The room lacked basic amenities: no wardrobe, no table, and no kettle. The parking situation was absolutely catastrophic. The staff was terrible and rude. Worst of all was the horrific noise—the windows open right onto the sidewalk and a busy main street. I strongly advise against staying here; keep your distance.
And if you think location is the key ,think again. That street is so busy and dangerous ( we have been witnesses of 3 accidents)
For family strong no go

I was quite comfortable

So, the Kentrikon is not fancy. If you are looking for fancy, this might not be for you. But, it is clean and comfortable with good wifi and centrally located a half block from the waterfront and the old bridge.
I suggest asking for a room in the back, as the street out front is quite busy with noisy traffic. I had a room facing the rear, which was quiet.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is rather basic, but I did not go away hungry.
The walk in price for a single is 30€ + 3€ for breakfast.
The rooms are equipped with an enormous flat screen TV, which I did not turn on.
This is surely your best option in Chalcis if you are on a budget.

Good hotel in a calm city

I have this curse of noisy hotels. This night-long visit in hotel Kentrikon wasn't an exception. Our room was in the first floor, almost on the street-level. The street was busy and noisy, also in the night time though it was Thursday. I have also good things to say, of course. Location was super, near train station (train to Athens every two hours) and beach boulevard. Our room was comfy, two beds, small bathroom. Spacious. Hotel staff was helpful and very friendly. We got good directions to KTEL bus station.
