Excellent holiday in Crete
The accommodation is very nice clean and everything you need to self cater if you want to.
However Eva cooks amazing traditional Greek food for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you wish.
Eva and Harry are a very lovely couple and excellent host. They organise all guest that want to, to eat drink and be merry together in true Greek style.
Eva is very helpful offering lots of information about the surrounding area.
All in all a fabulous destination in a beautiful country. The Greek people are warm friendly and extremely welcoming, not forgetting the lovely, tasty healthy cuisine in every taverna we visited.
As a group of two couples we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

Splendid stay
What about, a wonderful holiday in Crete, Eve and Harry make you feel like family! Apartments completely renovated, fabulous!

Above and beyond
We had originally booked a week at the Mitsis Royal Mare 5-star resort and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. But after falling in love with the island, we decided to extend our trip—and that’s when we found Evalia Apartments.
That decision turned out to be the highlight of our stay in Crete.
We never truly felt the 5-star experience until we arrived at Evalia. From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed with warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality that no luxury resort can replicate. The owner Eva went above and beyond in every way—from offering fantastic local recommendations to always being a friendly and caring presence.
In a moment of crisis when our baby wasn’t feeling well, Eva didn’t hesitate to personally take us to the hospital and make sure we were okay. Traveling with a 9-week-old baby, that level of care meant the world to us.
Evalia is more than just a place to stay—it’s a place where you’re looked after, where you feel safe and truly cared for. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Crete, whether you’re a couple, a family, or just someone looking for a stay with soul.

Once and never again!
A sheer disappointment. I don't know if the review is bought or only filled by older regulars. To read everything, go to my Google review. Too few signs to write down here.
Honest and unadorned review of Evalia Apartment: A disappointment across the board
My husband and I spent 9 nights in the Evalia apartment, and although the first impression of the facility was appealing, it was very quickly overshadowed by a variety of shortcomings.
Already at check-in Eva, the owner, made us unequivocally clear that she feels it is “unding” not to receive 10 out of 10 points on some portals, as everything is “perfect” with her. But appearances are deceptive.
The bathroom is modern, but so small that it is almost impossible to get to the toilet behind the door. In addition, the sink was not permanently installed and could be moved from left to right – a clear sign of poor maintenance.
The living area and the kitchen seemed unkindly thrown together. There was no harmony, nothing really matched. The dining table was so high that you could hardly eat on the normal chairs. The handles of the kitchen cabinets fell towards us when we opened them, the hood did not work and basic kitchen utensils such as a bread knife were missing. The air conditioning was practically useless, as it only spat out warm air without cooling liquid instead of cooling the room.
Storage space was hardly available. Space was so tight that we had to store our clothes in the kitchen cupboards – an imposition for a stay of several days.
The first night we noticed that the bed was not freshly made. We found hair in the bed and discovered brown spots at the head end that looked like there was something extremely unsanitary there that was wiped away makeshiftly but not thoroughly cleaned. Eva apologized the next day and helped to remake the bed. But that was the only time. Throughout the stay, the bed was never freshened up again.
Greek hospitality looks different. As a greeting, we expected at least a little attention like water, fruit or maybe a raki – nothing of the sort. Here really not a dime is invested in the guests.
On the fourth day we complained that neither the towels were changed nor the room cleaned. For four days we walked on sand in the room. Nothing happened after that. All we were told was that supposedly a lot of money was being spent on a cleaning company. But we only ever saw the same woman doing the gardening in addition to the cleaning. We were extremely embarrassed that regulars finally cleaned our apartment for us! Even after this “help”, the room was not cleaned until the end of the stay and the towels were not changed. The shower mat remained untouched for 9 days and became really disgusting.
The balcony was equipped with wobbly wooden chairs without upholstery, which became really painful after a short time. We therefore always took our pillows outside to sit at all. Other balconies were much better equipped – why this unequal treatment when Eva knew we were spending our honeymoon here?
Service? Misrepresentation. The elevator smelled unpleasant every day, and the backyard looked disastrous. It is possible to order food and drink, but there is no menu. Prices are apparently set “individually,” and the result is usury: Half a shot costs 3 euros, everywhere else you pay 1 euro. Our ashtray by the pool has not been emptied or cleaned for over 7 days. The owner's husband, who seemed to do nothing throughout the day, filled the pool with new chlorine during the day, which meant that the pool was temporarily unavailable. When it rained, the pads were not removed, so you could not use them the next day.
Noise pollution was also a big problem. Planes fly directly over the Evalia, which disturbs the night's sleep considerably. Even the constantly barking dogs of the neighbors are extremely annoying. To top it all off, Eva herself is so loud that you can hear her throughout the entire facility throughout the day.
Location: A car is mandatory to get around here. The nearest beaches are only accessible on foot, but are made of stones. For a sandy beach you have to drive.
The only bright spot was the tip for a trip Eva gave us, which we enjoyed very much.
Conclusion: Staying at Evalia Apartment was a huge disappointment. The positive reviews of regular customers are deceiving. In our experience, the value for money here is cheeky, and we very much regret spending our honeymoon here.
The photo from the door shows that even extremities stuck in the interior door of the bathroom. Definitely not from us.

Wonderful stay at evalia apartments
Wonderful stay with Eva the hostess together with husband Harry making it feel like a home from home the rooms are spotless and pool area is great and very clean Eva cooks lovely meals if you want them and it’s within easy access of the local villages we went twice in September and can’t wait to go back
