The chill rooftop pool was closed off too, so directed to the overcrowded ugly sister hotel.
In summary, when I book a holiday, I book it for a specific hotel, not a cheap and nasty alternative.

Good hotel with potential for more
The rooms are nice, large and clean, there is an extra plus for the shower. The doors closed nicely and were tight, which we have rarely experienced even in very good hotels.
The small rooftop pool is a highlight at first glance, but unfortunately there is so much missing on the roof terrace.
The pool is not cleaned and there is no shower on the roof (although in the pool rules it is advised to shower before bathing). Because the pool is really tiny and then people get into the pool sweaty and creamed, the water is murky and sometimes (depending on how much was going on at/in the pool) we really disgusted ourselves. Also a joke are the 8 sun loungers (without umbrella!) by the pool, far too few for the number of rooms the hotel has.
For this there is a huge, nicely furnished roof terrace with a bar, but - understand it, who wants - is only open from 8pm. So the whole beautiful place is hardly used, it could either be set up many more sun loungers here or else the rooftop bar can also be played during the day. So you could also avoid that sometimes noisy young people or other guests pass the day on the roof terrace (which is just completely unattended) with alcoholic drinks brought along, act like the lunatics and then also leave their garbage. The beautiful, new furniture will probably not stay beautiful for long.
It is also a pity that breakfast and dinner can only be taken at the sister hotel Glaros Beach, although Glaros Royal Beach has such a beautiful hotel terrace. The dining room in the sister hotel is therefore constantly completely crowded, loud, dirty and does not invite you to linger for longer.
Conclusion: Good hotel with some room for improvement.

Lovely Beachfront Hotel
Good choice at breakfast, evening not so great, however we swapped a couple of times and had lunch rather than evening meal, then ate out the rest of the week, I wish we had gone just bed and breakfast rather than half board, but that was a mistake on my part.
Meals are served in the sister hotel, next door but 1, only a 2 minute walk, the pool is also at sister hotel which is small and come afternoon full of groups of young girls and lads, in fact I would say this isn’t a family hotel. The pool area was also dirty, I bought some wipes and cleaned the beds and side tables as they were sticky.
The usual reserving of sunbeds was an issue and I did witness 1 family reserving extra beds in the sun along with some poolside, which given that there are not enough beds to accommodate guests was unacceptable !!
Lovely hotel, probably wouldn’t visit again as I feel the resort is a party place for teenagers, but that’s not a reflection on the hotel, just Hersonissos in general. Also note that the coach doesn’t drop off outside hotel, its a 350m walk from bus stop, I guess because the hotel is beachfront and coach wouldn’t get down the narrow street, it wasn’t a problem for us but worth mentioning.
