Totalmente consigliato!!!

Cominciamo col dire che arrivati in aeroporto non c’era il taxi designato e jannis è stato prontissimo e disponibilissimo a venirci a prendere e portarci personalmente alla stanza. La quale si è presentata come un grazioso monolocale incastonato in un castello veneziano antico, all’ interno di una piccola cittadina bianca che dona un anteprima di tutta l’isola. La stanza era provvista di bagno con doccia salottino con tv lavello della cucina e ovviamente letto matrimoniale. Ci siamo trovati stra bene sia per la simpatia e la disponibilità totale che per la location davvero suggestiva e fuori dagli schemi dei soliti hotel. Un sentito grazie e spero a presto!

Beautiful location, hard to find but screwed me out of a place to stay!!!

This place was a lot of work to get through in the maze of Emporio. But I did it! Then I waited & waited. Searched & searched. I booked a room some weeks prior on booking.com BUT no one was there. I repeatedly checked back & yet they left me on the streets without a place to sleep. I would have loved to stay there but I cannot advise enough to steer clear. Locals told me it changes ownership yearly & guests are stranded all the time. What a terrible way to arrive to Santorini. I was incredibly saddened.

Points for medieval flair, not as deluxe as the presentation suggests

The location - the medieval kasteli in the middle of the maze like village centre of Emporio - is a dream. But keep in mind that the prices for these apartments at the low end for this island, so what you pay is what you get. I was staying in the "deluxe" apartment with the indoor jacuzzi. Which sounds like a brilliant idea at first sight, but what it means is that you have around the clock noise from the heater/pump/whatever, and a lot of damp air with a chemical smell. The water isn't even hot, it's like a slightly too cool bathtub. The bathroom, adjacent to the jacuzzi room, is super small, when you shower everything gets wet and takes forever to dry. Unsurprisingly there is mold and rust on the various bathroom surfaces. There are no towel racks or any place to hang swimwear to dry. The main room has a nice big sofa, a huge ass tv, and a "kitchen" corner with a fridge and a small shelf with some plates and cutlery. No tea towels, no dishwashing liquid, so you basically walk to the bathroom (through the never drying puddles of water in the jacuzzi room) and rinse everything in the sink there. The doors to the jacuzzi and bathroom are very low, I'm 5'2'' and was constantly banging my head. The bedroom is super cosy, this was my favourite thing about the whole place. It's a few rustic stone steps up from the main room, and it's like climbing into a cupboard, but there's a little window which gets the morning sun. Mattress on the floor, good shelf space, good lighting. Do not attempt to fully close the bedroom door, it is very very difficult to open again! The front door lock is also kind of weird, it turns the other way round than you'd expect, and needs some fiddling to get it to lock from the inside. Sufficient amount of wall sockets both in main room and bed room. Wifi works well in the main room, less so in the bedroom. Mobile reception is obviously wonky because of the thick medieval walls. Main room can feel cold and draughty, you will need a sweater even in summer! There is no balcony or private yard, but there is an outdoor space in front of the building (not directly accessible from inside the apartment) where you can sit in the sun, no chairs or anything though.
I never saw the hosts but they responded fairly quickly to questions, brought an extra heater, and allowed me to leave my luggage for a while after check-out time.
All in all: Well worth it for the location, and probably one of the cheaper options even in this village. Cosy bedroom for peaceful sleep. All the rest is a bit rustic, but manageable.

VACANZA PER DUE

Luogo sicuramente suggestivo e tranquillo, lontano dal casino. Probabilmente abbiamo affittato l’appartamento più piccolo, quindi spazi ristretti anche solo per due, bagno doccia veramente mini, oltre il metro ottanta di altezza impossibile fare la doccia. Livello di pulizie appena accettabile. Segnalo miscelatore doccia guasto ed arrugginito con conseguente rischio di ustionarsi. Tutto migliorabile!!!
