Comfortable holiday home
This is a great place to stay when visiting Vourvourou.
It is along the small, sleepy main road running through the town, which the K-Tel bus travels down, although the building itself is set back from the road amongst palms and fruit trees.
The rooms are cozy, with a compact kitchen and bathroom, a small TV and a relaxing balcony.
It is only 3-5 minute's walk to the Dionysos Supermarket for all your basic needs.
The K-Tel bus stops at this same spot, if you're using it to travel from Thessaloniki.
It is also very close to a range of restaurants along the main stretch, where everyone strolls in the cool of the evening and night.
The Wi-Fi internet works well as long as you're in range of the signal - which isn't always the case in more remote areas of Greece.
The owner/caretaker is very helpful and speaks English. We asked him to recommend a quiet beach and he actually drove us to a few so we'd know where to go. He also lent us a beach umbrella which we'd forgotten to bring. A very nice guy.
TIPS:
• If you are coming by bus from Thessaloniki, you need to catch the K-Tel bus from the central Thessaloniki bus station.
• If you have come into Thessaloniki by bus and have disembarked at the K-Tel station with the big, round dome roof - you need to catch another bus from No.13 platform to get to Thessaloniki station, which is the last stop for that route.
The ticket for this bus can be bought from the newsagent near the entrance to the main ticket area.
Once at Thessaloniki station you buy a ticket to Vourvourou, which costs about 22 euro return.
• Buy or bring some mosquito repellent. They come out at night.
• If you plan to hire a boat and have no license, book well in advance as they are popular.
• Vourvourou pretty much closes down in winter according to the owner.
• If you go to Paris restaurant, try a dish called 'Bumpy Japanese', or 'Abnormes Japanesiche' in German. We didn't, but would love to find out from someone what it is.

Ποτέ κ για κανένα λόγο
Από που να αρχίσω ... είχαμε κάνει την κράτηση από Μάιο για την εβδομάδα του 15 Αυγούστου . Είχα διαβάσει προσεκτικά τις κριτικές γιατί έχω και ένα μωρό και ένα βρέφος 2 ετών κ 7 μηνών αντίστοιχα οπότε ήθελα κάτι καθαρό και ευρύχωρο . Φτάσαμε εκεί κ ήταν τα μόνο δωμάτια που δεν είχαν ευδιάκριτη πινακίδα παρά μόνο μια σε τόσο μεγάλο ύψος που σε έπιανε ο αυχένας σου να τη δεις.
Υπήρχε μια καγκελόπορτα για να μπεις στο χώρο που ήμασταν υποχρέωνε οι κάθε φορά να ανοιγοκλείνουμε για να μη φύγουν τα σκυλιΑ του ιδιοκτήτη !!! Καταλαβαίνετε πως με δυο μωρά να κατεβαίνουμε από το αμάξι για κάτι τέτοιο ήταν άθλος . Το δωμάτιο ήταν στο δεύτερο όροφο κάτι που δε μας είχαν ενημερώσει και κουβαλούσαμε καρότσια κ πράγματα
Σα χαμάληδες με τα μωρά αγκαλιά !
Και τώρα πάμε στο καλό ... καμία σχέση με τις φωτογραφίες ! Πρόκειται για παμπάλαια δωμάτια πολύ μικρά και άθλια ! Ο βόθρος βρω ουδέ συνέχεια ! Την πρώτη μέρα αφήσαμε τα πράγματα κ βγήκαμε να αγοράσουμε τα απαραίτητα για τα μωρά αφήνοντας το κλιματιστικό ανοιχτό καθώς είχε μέσα 32 βαθμούς και μπήκε ο ιδιοκτήτης και μας το έκλεισε ! Την επόμενη μέρα μας έκανε παρατήρηση για είχαμε ανοιχτό το κλιματιστικό με το παράθυρο !!! Την Τρίτη μέρα που απορήσαμε καθώς δεν είχε μπει ίχνος καθαρίστριας μας είπε πως αλλάζουν σεντόνια μετά από 3 βράδια και δεν υπάρχει καθαριότητα πρέπει να το κάνουμε μόνοι μας ! Μάλιστα μας υπέδειξε που να πετάμε τα σκουπίδια και μας έδωσε σακούλες για τους κάδους μετά από παρακάλια αφού μας ρώτησε αν είχαμε δικές μας από σούπερ μάρκετ !
Ένα απόγευμα ζήτησα να πλύνω στην αυλή τα κουβαδάκια του μικρού και με χίλια ζόρια μου υπέδειξε ένα σημείο . Αφού ανέβασα τα μωρά και κατέβηκα μετά από 15 λεπτά έπαθα σοκ ! Είχαν πάει επάνω 5 γάτες και καθόντουσαν στα πράγματά μας !!!
Και αλλά πολλά που θα ήθελα ώρες να γράφω .
ΚΑνεις να μην περάσει αυτό το μαρτύριο στις διακοπές του !
