Paradise
A huge thank you for this moment of pure magic. The kindness, quality of service and attention to every detail made my stay a unique experience. An enchanting break, a REAL place out of time. This setting, I dare say almost sacred, or every tree, every plant, every detail is thought with love. And especially the sweat of the owners. To preserve nature. This despite the difficulties inherent in the country, the climate. It's a treasure to preserve. A huge thank you also to the 100/100 female staff whose benevolence at every moment, is pure sweetness. And of course a crush for rina the chef whose traditional and inventive dishes are real culinary journeys.

Solo trip
I honestly wish I had stayed longer than just one night at Selayar Pearl Beach Cottage. This place is pure magic. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the handcrafted rooms, each one beautifully designed and perfectly in harmony with the surroundings. Waking up to that view felt unreal.
The beach? Absolute paradise. Powder-soft white sand, crystal-clear water, and surrounded by lush, virgin forest that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a hidden world. I even got to spot one of the island’s endemic marsupials, which was such a special.
Snorkeling here was next-level. The underwater world is bursting with life. I saw an incredible diversity of fish, along with sharks and turtles gliding effortlessly through the reef. It’s easily one of the best snorkeling experiences I’ve ever had.
Gaelle and John are the most welcoming and thoughtful hosts, going above and beyond to make everything perfect. The staff were equally amazing so warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. And the food was delicious every single time.
This place isn’t just a destination, it’s an experience. I left feeling relaxed, inspired, and already dreaming about coming back.

Wonderful experience I definitely will come back
This is already my 4th stay at Pearl Beach Cottage official site, and every time I’m even more impressed than the first! This place is a true architectural gem!! The “Lumbung” villas, built in pure Indonesian tradition, beautifully combine elegant local architecture with refined interior design, creating an atmosphere that is both chic and natural. The restaurant and bar, with their organic design perfectly integrated into the lush surroundings, offer unforgettable dining moments facing the ocean.
The landscape is simply incredible: a tropical garden full of flowers, majestic cacti, shaded trees, and a stunning white sand beach all come together to create a dream setting.
But the real treasure here is the water. From the very first time I entered the sea, I felt like I had put my head inside a living aquarium!! A feeling that comes back every time I visit. The snorkeling and diving spot is exceptional, one of the best I’ve ever experienced.
I’ve been able to observe an incredible marine diversity just a few fin kicks from the beach: barracudas, tuna, trevallies, triggerfish, groupers, scorpionfish, colorful corals… And some truly breathtaking encounters: white tip sharks, black tip sharks, lemon sharks, grey reef sharks, as well as the banded brown bamboo shark, endemic to Indonesia and threatened. I’ve also seen eagle rays, leopard rays, stingrays, soles, giant Javan moray, leopard morays, sea snakes, turtles, and even dolphins in the distance from both the water and the beach!! Every dive is a unique adventure.
An absolutely magical place that deserves far more than 5 stars!! I highly recommend it to anyone who loves nature, authentic architecture, breathtaking landscapes, and especially exceptional snorkeling and diving
