Great place in Tangkoko
This was a lovely accommodation near the Tangkoko Reserve. The owners took great care of us, and the meals were delicious! Would definitely recommend it.

Reasonable and good food
When you enter the Tangkoko area, you’ll notice that there are not so many lodging options. This lodge is one of the few. We stayed one night. There are several separate rooms on the grounds, each in its own stone building. There is one larger building that looked like it has rooms and had two stories. But not sure. We had a room next to the main building. The place was very simple but at least it was clean. There is a closet and a side table. One kingsize bed with bed tables. A door separates it from the bathroom. This is quite large. The shower gave a decent amount of hot water. The sink is small but it will do. Most people won’t stay for more than one night anyway.
The bed slept really well. The airconditioner works good and you will be glad because you need it. It is quite hot and moist out there.
In the evening, you can sit outside your small terrace. And listen to the sound of the jungle.
Next to the main building a small river flows and that also contributes to the laid back atmosphere this hotel has.
They serve you breakfast and dinner. All of which is surprisingly good. Dinner is at an extra charge. You can take coffee or tea for free in the main building. You can also take a beer or a soda from the refrigerator. All they ask is that you write down what you take and pay for it upon checkout. This shows a level of trust that you don’t find easy these days!
As you will most likely use this hotel for visiting the national park, one of the official guides will find you here and it is easy to make arrangements for your hike. Make sure you bring rain clothing. The guides have some, but maybe not enough. And it can rain out there. A lot… that is also why you need sturdy shoes. No low sneakers. And long trousers. And last but not least not least, enough mosquito repellent. Take a decent flashlight also. Your hikes will partly be in the dark.
We did two hikes on two separate days. We had to pay 1.9 million IDR. (€100,-) That is for two persons, two days admission fee and including the guide. (Jemy -Jemy adventure tours)
Way too much money and in hindsight, we believe we were ripped off.
So, this hotel will suit you fine on your journey. It is simple but does the job.

More pros than cons
Tangkoko Lodge is located very near to the natural reserve, surrounded by the stunning nature that you will also find when arriving there. Once there... Rooms are old but big, confortable but more furnitures would help - our room had only one table, no wardrobe, not even bedside tables. Ah, if you love silence, this is a good choice!
Rooms are not daily cleaned up.
Free Indonesian coffee, tea and fruit.
Regarding the visits to the natural reserve, both the one and on the afternoon. Those are the main (only?) reason for visiting Tangkoko, as this village doesn't have much more to offer. We really loved them! Our guide showed us tarsius, cuscus, tarantula, monkeys, bats... and other animals. Roy is very professional, enthusiastic and fun. We are a couple, and did both visits, so we had to pay 800k IDR + entrance fee for both days, 1.2M IDR in total (around 65€). This is not cheap for a country where you can have a full meal for an euro but they totally worth it.
What I found expensive was the pick up and drop of to the airport, we paid 1M IDR (around 53€) for that, which took around 90 min. Tangkoko is difficult to arrive to, and Grab is not available, so you gotta pay what they ask.
We had lunch and diner there, they are awesome cooks for a reasonable price. Fish and fruits from proximity, delicious, healthy... I will miss that!

Perfect stay for those who want to be in Tangkoko National Park.
Good location near the entrance to Tangkoko National Park. The rooms have air conditioning and some also a fan, nice bathroom with cold and hot water.
We stayed with full board and wow - some of the best food we've had on Sulawesi. It was just perfect. The people who run the place are very service minded and will do everything to make the stay a good one. We have been here before and would love to come again.

Ideal place to do a tour in Tangkoko National Park
Ideal place to stay if you want to visit Tangkoko National Park. The lodge has permanent guides and a tour is easily arranged. We did both the morning and evening tours and saw all the animals we wanted to see and then some.
The rooms are spacious and equipped with everything. Breakfast included, even if you go on a tour early in the morning, breakfast will be ready for you on time. Lunch and dinner also available, Indonesian cuisine.
