Holiday and dogs

We really enjoyed our stay with you! Very friendly and helpful staff and what a nice house!
We also met a very nice beach dog at your homestay. We heard from one of your staff that she had been given the name "Lilou" ❤️. A black dog with a white dot on her neck and white paws. What a sweet and good dog! Above all, she was very smart. In 5 minutes I had taught her to sit and lie down...she is an incredibly smart dog! I hope you will take care of her because I saw that she was very important to all the customers. I left my heart with her and hope she stays healthy. Maybe I'll see her again next year or one of our friends..
I read on various official channels that more than 70,000 dogs (and probably many more) per year are brutally slaughtered for consumption in Bali. I myself have also experienced the serving of dog meat that was supposedly chicken. This is really disgusting. I hope that "Lilou" will not have to suffer the same fate and that she is really taken care of...

Very small bungalows on the beach

January 19-20, 2024 1 night
If you want to do nothing while looking at the sea, this is the best bungalow at Novotel.
It's not a hotel, it feels like a guesthouse.
I didn't mind and just sat there comfortably, but
the shower and toilet are in the same room and there is no refrigerator.
If you can tolerate some inconvenience, I think you can enjoy a day off doing nothing.
There is nothing around the bungalow, so I ordered food for delivery.
The seafood fried rice is delicious.

Inolvidable

A perfect hotel for a few days of relaxation, waking up to find yourself facing the beach. Great breakfast and very attentive staff.
We stayed for two nights and left with a heavy heart. We rescued a little puppy that was drowning in the sea. We bathed him with warm water and took care of him until he warmed up. We named him Kiwi.
Obviously, we couldn't take him with us, so we spoke to the receptionist and she said they would take care of him. It would mean a lot to us if you go there and share photos with us to see how he's doing.

Don’t say we didn’t warn you….

There are only three good things about this place: the AC, the woman who manages breakfast/ AM staff, and the sounds of the waves. We booked this place knowing it had some bad reviews, but still went with it due to the location. Boy did we regret it! We arrived one hour after the start of check-in, and had to wait over 15 mins in the sun to find someone to point us to our room. The rooms were filthy, stained towels, room stunk of mold, and the bathrooms were in the state that you wanted to make sure to wear shoes when you showered. I messaged the manager requesting check-in information, and just received a piece of paper with the wifi password when I was asking info for breakfast and how to book tours. We cancelled our reservation for the rest of the trip; and found another hotel for less money, superb conditions, location and service. Best decision we made. Don’t be fooled by the good reviews, stay away!

The most horrible experience from Bali/ Nusa Penida

I booked accommodation for my holiday at Nusa Penidav Santen Beach Bungalows through Booking.com. What awaited us surpassed everything, the worst you can imagine. Bungalows Santen Beach is located approx. 500m from the wharf, directly a few meters from the sea. The bungalows are in the middle of a "slum" - everything broken down, dirty, dump everywhere, pigs, other various animals running freely all around. The sea is dirty, full of plastic and garbage. The bungalow itself was fine, but nobody really wants to enjoy a holiday in the middle of such horror.
Unfortunately, the entire payment for 3 nights fell through because I didn't want to be in this accommodation even for a minute, I immediately dealt with an alternative solution.
