quiet, relaxed hotel in Uluwatu

We booked the deluxe suite/villa. The pool is shared with two other rooms. The room is very large and very spacious. The bathroom was outside behind the room but covered and separated from the room by a door. The hotel was built into a mountain so you don't hear any street noise. Scooters can also be rented directly from the accommodation. The beaches in the west can be reached by scooter in around 20-30 minutes. Restaurants and bars are also easily accessible by scooter. The hosts are very nice and very accommodating.

Disappointing

The photos they use to advertise are all mixed up. Most of them are from the villas above, and there are a few from the accommodations below, where they are adjoining rooms with a small pool (to call it something, because it is more like a pond) to share with about 7 other rooms. . The infinity pool that appears in most of the images cannot be used if you stay in the cheapest rooms. They say they specify it when reserving a room, but it leads to confusion and is a deception.
Cleaning is horrible. I understand that we are in nature (I live in the country myself) and there may be some bug or whatever, but I think that the cobwebs that accompanied us on the bathroom mirror and the room for 5 days are from being left and not hygienic. .
The shower leaked water in the middle of the night without sense, and the hot water ran out very quickly.
It is far from everything, and you need a car or motorcycle to get around. Even more, you have to pay in cash, which doesn't make sense nowadays, especially when you have to pay large amounts of money.
Reception hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Then if something happens, good luck. In fact, one of the nights, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., a couple who was in the room next to ours were shouting at each other, hitting each other, crying, slamming doors... we sent them a message so they could solve it, because we were really even getting scared. They answered us the next morning telling us that they were going to ask them how they were. Subrealistic.
The best thing was the staff, who were very friendly and helpful. Still, I wouldn't stay here again.

Very good

Loved the place! The stairs were quite steep — but then again it gave us spectacular view from the room. But it was too much for my Dad (he’s almost 70 hehe) so on the 3rd night we moved down to another room, but still it was lovely and beautiful. Breakfast is e x c e l l e n t

Poor

As in my title mentioned, very poor. We've booked this hotel because of the good reviews as people were saying great experience and great view/location. Nothing of this is true. Warm water runs out fast, the view to a "garden"; I am still thinking it was a joke, perhaps my perspection of a garden is different. The location is a hill and very diffecult to reach, only good by bike. Nothing to do around the area. The reception is available from 9-5... it's a hotel, not an office... and you have to pay cash!!! Never experienced this before, but okay. One day our room was left open after the cleaning. And oh yeah, transfer/shuttle to the airport is NOT free! The only thing that was positive was the comfy bed.

Fantastic Accommodations!!

Had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday here. The manager Nona went out of her way to ensure our stay was everything we needed it to be. The same can be said for all of the staff. Amazing restaurant and smoothie bar as well!! Loved all of it!
