Amazing place!!! This is our second time here and we just love it! We call it our little Mama Mia place as it reminds us of it 😁 The staff, cleanliness, decor…everything was perfect. Thank you, we will be back!

Lata Lama is such a lovely place to stay! We stayed at the house called Rumah Beryl, two adults and 2 teenagers. Wonderful!

Rural Bali gem

My partner and I have just spent a fabulous week at Lata Lama. We opted for the one bedroom villa and, while we found it on the smallish side, we loved it’s set up.
Firstly, one thing I had to get used to was being out in the sticks. The hotel is rural but that’s its charm. There are only three villas on site and it’s very quiet. The five minute walk to the beach is great but you need your phone torch at night. At night there are dogs and a security guy to make sure you are ok. I really appreciated this.
The one bedroom Villa has its kitchen outside - again something to get used to. It was great. There is a two burner kitchen top, mini fridge, kettle etc.
We ate breakfast there everyday and it was great. Most days we have muesli, bread, eggs, yoghurt and fruit. Some days we are pancakes, others mei goreng. We had dinner the first night we arrived and it was one of the best meals we ate the entire week in North Bali! Chicken curry, Nasi goreng… fish curry for lunch too was a highlight.
The staff on site can’t do enough for you. They are very respectful when brining breakfast and wanting to know when they could come back to clean the room. Lovely people.
The hotel also organised for the airport pickup. No issues there.
If you are wanting a hotel that’s in the thick of the action then this isn’t for you. If, like us, you want to see what rural North Bali is like then I recommend trying Lata Lama.

Beautiful escape for relaxing / gathering in Lovina

Booked Lata Lama through Airbnb on a very short notice, at 17.00 for our wedding after party at 20.00, due to some mishaps with the previously arranged accommodation for our wedding after party. The owner, Kim, assured that everything is ready and Ketut, the person in charge in the accommodation, welcomed us right away and showed us the place. Booked the 3-Bedroom Joglo and fell in love with it already when we were showed around. We particularly loved the combination of modern design with the traditional Javanese architecture and art pieces. The highlight was definitely the spacious living room and huge private pool area.
We had some friends coming over and the place was simply perfect for this. The middle kitchen counter with bar stools were definitely suitable for our needs. Bedroom was comfortable and would be nice to have some extra bathroom amenities, but all manageable during our times there.
In the following day, Ketut brought us our breakfast of fresh fruits, yoghurts, mueslis, and some eggs. They wanted to prepare our breakfast in our kitchen but since I personally like to cook, I prefer to cook my own breakfast. They allow us to do this and I think this is a nice touch to add on our already great experience at Lata Lama.
Thank you Kim and Ketut, and of course the whole team. We really enjoyed our experience here and Lata Lama is indeed a great hideout in Lovina precinct for relax / gathering.

We loved our stay at Villa Lata Lama Joglo and highly recommend it! It really has to be seen to be appreciated, as the photos don't do it justice. The joglo has been refurbished and outfitted beautifully but is still very livable. Lots of different spaces to hang out, fantastic pool that gets plenty of sun, and very kind & helpful staff (hello to Ketut and Seger!). Some "good to know" tips: 1) the Joglo is quite hard to find so we strongly recommend arranging airport transport through the villa; 2) villa is located by rice fields so it can be dark while walking to restaurants/beach (recommend renting scooters or bicycles); 3) there is aircon in the bedrooms but the shared living space gets a good cross breeze if you open all the windows; 4) the third bedroom (which is optional to rent) is a separate mini-building attached to the main Joglo; 5) the TV did not work while we were there but that wasn't a big deal for us; 6) there will always be random geckos, ants and flying insects as the windows/doorways don't have screens and you're in the middle of a rice field in Asia! Critters are part of traditional buildings - even beautiful ones - no matter where you are :)
