COZY HOTEL BY THE SEA
The area is large, spacious, very green. There are 2 nice pools on the property. One just outside the main restaurant before leaving for the beach. The second is big and beautiful, between the hulls. Both clean, nice to swim.
Still in the grounds is its spa, outdoor massage, pool bar and its own temple.
The room is spacious, tired but clean. Cleaned well. The water came in on time. The bed was changed three times in eight days. Room: safe, tea and coffee set, minibar, makeup, slippers.
Breakfasts are quite decent: full / delicious. All kinds of eggs, cold/burning dishes, Vienna waffles/pancakes every day. Fruit: bananas, watermelon, melon, papaya, snake fruit (very exotic and very cool!). True, periodically papayas and bananas ran out...
Beach: the hotel grounds with sunbeds are quite spacious, there are many sunbeds, there are always free. The beach itself is wide with light sand. But garbage near the water is present (not in the same amount as Jimbaran, where we were before, but there is). Drive is also more transparent than Jimbaran. There are hardly any waves. Swimming is pretty comfortable. But sometimes the algae come in (not critically). And sometimes there's very little tide and water.
Location: The location of the hotel is good. There's a promenade all along Sanur. And there are lots of cafes, restaurants, shops all over the promenade. Walking is interesting and eating is affordable and delicious. Especially loved the nearest cafe to the hotel: the cafe is unspectacular, simple tables among the trees, but the serving and taste - restaurant, and prices are reasonable. The main shopping mall Icon Bali can be reached by the promenade. If you leave the hotel through the reception, within 5-7 minutes walk all the necessary infrastructure: cafes / restaurants / bars / pharmacies / shops / markets.

A Truly Authentic Balinese Stay at Mercure Resort Sanur
The property is laid out in a charming villa-style concept, nestled among beautifully maintained lush gardens and landscaping. During the day, the resort is bathed in radiant sunshine, exuding pure Balinese charm, while in the evening, gentle lighting creates a warm, atmospheric ambiance.
Above all, the staff were exceptionally welcoming, kind, and attentive. Despite the relaxed pace Bali is known for, any requests or inquiries were handled promptly and efficiently. Having direct access to the beach made leisurely strolls effortless, and enjoying a cup of coffee at Breeze Bar was a daily highlight.
Given the resort's established history, the rooms could benefit from a bit of renovation. While some rooms have updated floor tiles that feel much fresher, signs of aging are noticeable overall. However, should renovations take place, I sincerely hope they preserve the traditional villa architecture and lush landscaping. Simply walking around the grounds makes you truly feel that you are in Bali—something modern, generic hotels often lack.
One constructive area for improvement is the breakfast setup. The selection of fresh salads and fruits felt somewhat limited. Additionally, serving the salad was quite cumbersome, as it required holding up a heavy glass door with one hand while trying to plate food with the other.
Aside from the breakfast experience, Mercure Sanur remains a wonderful retreat that captures the true essence of Bali. I would return in a heartbeat—100% recommended!
