Unprofessional Staff, bad service, really not recommended
the disaster start with a message that ask me to do checkout at 6 am (yes! 6 am in the morning!!) because on the next day, there's other couples who want to get married on the same site as me (i was get married on saturday night and the other couples on sunday morning).. i was so angry because the management doesn't concern about me and my family comfortable since i'm not live in Yogyakarta (I'm from Jakarta).. they offer me for cashback, but of course we don't care about the money at all!! it was the most unpolite and unprofessional experience during my stay at hotel.. i never get such a very unpleasant treatment like that! finally, my husband call the manager and they "allow" us to have a normal checkout..
Second, we had to wait for few hour for check in on the honeymoon room because the staff still clean my room and they let me sleep on the hall (yep, the big hall) after our holy matrimony.. my honeymoon room isn't like a honeymoon suite.. it just a normal room with flower on table and above my bed..
Third, we just knew about the "extra fee" for people who sleep there since there's no clear information.. THE STAFF EVEN WATCHING OUR ROOM TO MAKE SURE THERE'S NOT MORE THAN 2 PEOPLE ON MY ROOM, EVEN A CHILDREN THEY COUNT IT AS 1 ADULT.. they treat us like we're a smugglers!!! and yeah, the extra fee may be changed!
Fourth, one day before my wedding party there's a mistake about the package THAT THEY MADE IT. Thank God the marketing staff recognize it. If that happen, they would charge me for extra money for mistake that they made! what a ridiculous statement that come out from a marketing staff.. (Did they even have a skill about sales??)
Fifth, on my wedding day i'm hiring rain master for my wedding since the wedding is outdoor (yeah, indonesian people still believe with things like this). They 99% guarantee the rain master is very good and it wouldn't rain.. i'm asking for plan B in case the rain fall but they consist if it would save.. and guess what??? THE RAIN IS FALL AND THE PARTY BECOME CHAOS!! i can't sit on my bridal chair and i can't use the projector for playing my videos.. I'm asking to meet the rain master but they said he didn't there (they said the rain master control it fron his house).. how come a rain master not keeping up the event on the spot?? and i don't see any ritual offerings there (on the tradition, the rain master should stay on the event with the ritual offerings and pray) is it some kind to get more money or what, i would never know.. IT WAS SOOOOOOOO HORRIBLE and i almost cry!! one of the most important thing in my life become chaos!!
After the recurring disapointment, the management decide to give back the money that i spend for rain master 100%. After waiting for few days, i got a message that the management just can give 50% the cash back since they already give it to the rain master.. I WAS SOOO FURIOUS AS H*LL!! and as before, my husband try to call the manager and they said "the manager is off duty"
WTF IS THIS??? they keep playing with me and keep dissapointing me!!
I SWEAR TO GOD AND NATURE, I WOULDN'T GO BACK THERE AGAIN EVEN THAT'S THE LAST PLACE ON EARTH..

Traditional atmosphere for getting away from hippie routine
Food & beverage are vary for purchase. You must try 'wedang uwuh' and 'kopi areng', which are Yogyakarta's special drink to taste. However, even though we got 3 meals (dinner, breakfast & lunch), the menu was way too minimalist compare to what we have paid. It would be better if the hotel also provides milk & bread for family staying with children (it will be helpful), providing information in English will be much helpful as well for foreigners. Understand this is javanese style, but guests' satisfaction comes first.
We stayed a night only. Despite the minimalist meals, we enjoyed every moment there.

Lovely place
The rooms are done in a lovely traditional style and very spacious. Room amenities included are the usual toiletries and towels, hot water, plain water, a phone and a safe. There's no fridge or tv, but there is a small museum and the restaurant within the compound. The swimming pool is a communal one and it's open to the general public. The staff were friendly and the meals were very delicious.
It's outside the city centre, so your only choice of public transport is the taxi which you can easily ask the front desk reception to call for you. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would not mind coming back again.

Yogaykarta best Authentic Hotel with Retro and Heritage ...

the museum is made to understand the Java Culture , there a "wayang kulit" show every Friday night with lokal Dalang .. this is
you also can try the Angkringan in front of the hotel
Amazingly their lokal Chef can cook exactly like my grand mother ... sayur lodeh tahu tempe bacem and others traditional food. you can get when having a breakfast or lunch.
the hotel is located near from pawirotaman (the Yogya night life cafe) and jut stright you can reach the Parangtritis beach.
I recommend this hotel for you to bring family, introducing the java culture ....
