2 weeks at the Eastin Penang Hotel
I came to Penang on business and had a wonderful experience. I especially liked the breakfast experience. The hotel caters to international travelers and breakfast was a wonderful dance to watch. The staff was attentive, helpful and efficient. Azura's attention to detail and pleasant, warm greetings to each of the guests, from wherever they came, made my mornings start fabulously. Thank you Azura
I would also like to express my thanks to the greatest hotel ambassador Lim. I met him on arrival while checking in. While he took me to my room, he was quite informative and helpful. He clearly explained the workings of my room, the local cuisine and suggested locations to visit. He never failed to greet me with a smile and by name each and every day. His positivity and helpfulness went well beyond expectations. Thank you Lim!

I paid extra to get bay view. Disappointing. Not a nice view. The room is small. Not even a closet. Also bad experience during breakfast. The staff came by to tell us dining ends at 10. Never in my life I was told to hurry up because of the time. At most I leave around 10.30. The staff was
very authoritative and rude! I should avoid staying at this hotel in the future.

Great, everything works. Only inconvenience to note if u book the same room under 2 different reservations, u need to reactivate your room cards for the next booking. We stayed over 3 nights. Booked 2 nights with breakfast & 1 without breakfast coz of an early flight. We had to reactivate the cards even though it’s for the same room, under the same name.

Simple comforts that made the stay easy
There was a nice sense of ease throughout the stay, especially with how the hotel spaces are designed. Everything feels bright, clean, and calm, which made it comfortable to settle in right away.
The kids immediately loved the pool — ours was located on the same floor, so it was incredibly convenient to just walk over whenever they felt like swimming. That small detail made a big difference during the stay.
Mornings were also something to look forward to. Breakfast had a wide variety, from local options to things like bri cheese and smoked salmon, but the highlight was definitely the soft-serve ice cream machine — it turned into a daily ritual for the kids.
If anything, the hotel feels more quiet and structured than a resort, but for a short family stay it actually worked in our favor.

Efficient layout and well-planned facilities
From a practical perspective, the hotel works well for a short family stay. Its immediate proximity to Queensbay Mall (around a 3–5 minute walk) simplifies daily logistics, while getting around the island by car is straightforward — we easily reached different parts of Penang, including Georgetown, Kek Lok Si Temple, several trekking spots, and Muzium & Galeri Tuanku Fauziah.
The suite-style room layout is a strong advantage: a separate living area, additional bathroom, and a proper workspace make the space more functional and easier to organize as a family. It feels closer to a compact serviced apartment than a standard hotel room.
Another well-executed element is the club lounge. It provides a quiet space to reset during the day with coffee and light refreshments, and in the evening offers a good selection of snacks during cocktail hours, all with a view over the city and Queensbay.
