A Hidden Cove of Tranquility for Two Tired Corporate Macaques in search of a Honeymoon Retreat
A lovely short getaway for two corporate monkey suits who couldn't take more than a week off for their honeymoon... and ended up blown away by a romantic, tranquil paradise.
When I first heard of Ambong-Ambong in Langkawi, it was simply on a "Top 10 Destinations" list. I didn't think much of it beyond noticing the nice facilities, a large private pool for each unit, and a 10-minute drive to Cenang. I contacted their team through their website, and they curated a 6-day honeymoon package for my wife and me.
From the moment we landed at the airport, we were greeted by the most cheerful staff member, Ummi, who expedited our check-in, and in under 25 minutes we arrived at this wonderful hidden cove of tranquility. We had originally planned to explore the island... instead, we didn't want to leave the room. The hospitality here deserves to be called the gold standard of Malaysian hospitality. Everyone was so sweet and kind. Housekeeping visited three times a day to restock our tea and coffee pods, keep our towels fresh, and make sure not a single mosquitoes was in sight.
Our drivers went above and beyond too... not only chauffeuring us to breakfast at Rimba, but also helping me run out to the mini mart late at night (big shoutout to Abang Nizal!). At our sunset dinner, our servers Fariz and Syamie made the evening feel truly special... we couldn't stop smiling.
Breakfast at Rimba , the wonderful Kak Ida remembered us from day one and went above and beyond every single morning after, making sure we had fresh pineapple juice, coffee, warm pastries, and fruit waiting. Her recommendations were spot on... we ended up ordering seconds of the avocado toast with a half-boiled egg every single day. We were thoroughly spoiled.
We stayed in the Kemboja Room, and honestly, photos don't do it justice... it's more spacious than it looks. A large tree just outside becomes the centerpiece of the view at night through the room's floor-to-ceiling glass. Everything else from the wifi, the modern TV, and especially the strong water pressure and reliably hot showers was a lovely bonus.
It's a truly magical experience, and what struck us most is how close it is to the nightlife and tourist spots, yet feels like a completely hidden world of its own.
Heading back, we were personally chauffeured by the wonderful Mr. Prem, who took care of us throughout the trip honestly, he's the man responsible for spoiling us with such a truly wonderful experience.
I honestly forgot this was Langkawi is just an hour's flight from KL.
Thank you so much to the entire Ambong-Ambong Team, you truly made our honeymoon an unforgettable, magical experience. Both my wife and I are already planning to come back here to celebrate our anniversary.

Nice time and space
I used it on a trip with her.
They communicated with us very carefully from the booking stage and arranged a private taxi from the airport.
The rooms were also very fantastic, with lots of fun elements like swimming pools and animals.

Stunning resort surrounded by nature
Ambong Pool Villas was a very good surprise. Having heard about it for a while we decided to give it a try. And are so glad we did!
The location is incredible - you are literally in the middle of the jungle and get to see various animals: we spotted macaques, spider monkeys, hornbills, eagles, bats, frogs and even an off scorpion…
The room was amazing, very comfortable for two adults and two children, with a nice outdoor area, a great private pool facing the jungle and a view to the ocean, Rebak Island and Machinchang mountain at the distance. Sunsets were spectacular!
Food was excellent - we ate at Rimba, which has a stunning setting at canopy level in the jungle. The setting is incredible. Highly recommend their Nasi Lemak for breakfast and their “bowl of goodness”.
The villas are within walking distance to Pantai Tengah and Pantai Cenang - lots of food options there as well.
We loved our stay and special thanks to Ida whose care and service were exceptional.
We will be back.

Simply breathtaking!
Like stepping into a dream world.
My husband and I were on a 'delayed' honeymoon at Ambong Ambong and it was fantastic.
We started in the studio apartment, which was really nice and everything different from what we are used to in the North Atlantic. We then chose to upgrade to the Pool Villas (without seeing them first), and WOW! I almost had tears in my eyes seeing how nice and luxurious it was!
Because we upgraded after we checked in, there was not one Pool Villa that was available for the entire period, so we were allowed to try both the Sunset (villa 8) and Sunrise (villa 1) villas, and they are both very nice.
The whole trip was fantastic, and the staff were so nice and helpful.
We have told everyone we have spoken to about the trip that we can't recommend them enough to go to Ambong-Ambong - it's worth every penny!
We hope we get the opportunity to go there again sometime in the future.

Magical
Really incredible and unique experience - quite different to most big hotels. Utmost privacy in the villa, which was clean, quiet and secluded. Personalised experience, and staff were very flexible with anything we asked for. View was amazing within the rainforest. The spa experience and restaurant food were also very good. Close to tengah beach aswell which is walking distance. Only minor consideration is that it can be a steep uphill walk to the villa depending on which one you are staying in, although staff are always willing to drop you off if it's a reasonable time.
