I recently enjoyed a three-night stay at the Sleep Box Hotel, and I had a lovely experience! The room was cozy, and the bed was super comfortable. It came with an air conditioning unit, a TV, a chair, a small table, and hangers for my clothes. Plus, I appreciated having two towels and two bathroom bags for my personal items.
The bathrooms are located at the end of the corridor—there’s a blue one for men and a pink one for women. Just a heads up: you’ll need to pass through the blue area to get to the pink one. The showers even have a changing area, and they provide shampoo and body wash, which is a nice touch!
I also found washing machines in the bathroom areas, which was really convenient. And if you need to grab a snack or a drink, there’s a microwave, a water dispenser, and a fridge for guests to use. Overall, it was a great stay!

Couldn’t Sleep Because of the Live Music

This was my second time staying at this hotel in Penang. Overall, it’s actually a great hotel if you want to visit the main tourist attractions because almost everything is within walking distance. The room is spacious and tidy, the bathroom and shower are clean, the lobby is always clean and smells nice, and the staff are friendly.
However, there’s one reason why I won’t stay here again when I visit Penang. The live music venue right next to the hotel is incredibly loud, and the noise goes straight through the walls into the room.
Even after midnight, from around 12:00 AM until 1:30 AM, the live music was still going at full volume. The hotel provides free earplugs at the reception, but unfortunately, they didn’t help at all. The music was still clearly audible inside the room.
It’s really disappointing because everything else about the hotel was great. Unfortunately, because of the noise, I won’t be recommending this hotel to my friends or family.

Clean cozy room, basic amenities (no toothpaste tooth brush provided) as a budget hotel. TV (youtube, netflix available), hair dryer, slippers are in the room. Bed is comfortable, cooling air-conditioner. Dehumidifier is in the room so dont have humid feeling. Microwave and refrigerator and drinking water-purifier are in front lift-door, can refill my drinking water. Shared toilet are very clean, with shower gel and shampoo provided, but there is no hair conditioner. Overall average good even though it is budget room.
Receptionists are welcoming and friendly.
However, soundproof in the room is a bit not good, can hear the door-closing sound (loud) from the neighbors at the next door in the same level. And in the night, slightly can hear the music from the bars nearby.
Nothing to complain as the room is comfortably good for this price at the great location.

it's very clean and the staff are very friendly. ☺️☺️
I will choose it again if I visit George Town again.
