The Dive Hotel We Needed
I decided to try something different on this past trip and instead of an all inclusive try out a boutique style hotel in town. Mainly since started diving and spend most of our time on, and in the water staying at an all inclusive didn’t fit our needs. Besides we wanted to explore in town more.
La Perle Noir Dive Hotel fit our needs perfectly. Close to everything in town we wanted to go see.
We were able to book our dives through the hotel, clean and store our gear between dives there as well and knew it was safe to leave it out.
Emmanauelle runs the hotel and is fantastic. Very accommodating and took care of any request we had.
They have scooters available to rent at a very reasonable rate and go the extra mile in giving you a short lesson on driving the streets there. We rented for 3 days and because the rains blew out a day and I know better than riding one in streets that flood easily it stayed parked. Emmanauelle secured a refund for that one day. Above and beyond.
Our room was comfortable, clean and We slept well. The one and only thing I found lacking was water pressure in the shower but that’s not a deal breaker for us.
We are already planning on returning to Cozumel and booking agin at La Perle Noir.

A dream for divers!
From my initial dive query to the last bit of equipment rinsing, the diving staff at Le Perle Noire were consummate professionals who actually connect with their clientele. They adapted dive plans due to local conditions and really took care to make sure that we were safe and having fun! Charlotte is an absolute legend - she has profound knowledge and experience, speaks (at least?) three languages, and is a natural teacher. Her exuberant energy and love of being underwater is infectious, making her the perfect instructor; she excelled at finding camouflaged creatures, pointing then out, and making sure we all had a chance to see them. Most of the equipment was relatively new - in some cases, brand new! - and in great working order. Being able to stay at the dive centre is ideal for a lot of reasons, and it's part of what made diving with LPN so special. We saw a ton of impressive marine life and just had an amazing time.
In terms of accommodation, I couldn't ask for more. LPN is truly a guesthouse; there are three different shared spaces, including a pool, three hammocks, a rooftop space to chill / read / practice yoga, and an air conditioned kitchen / dining area where you can do digital work. It has all the things that are great about hostels without having to sleep in a dorm bed! There are only six rooms, and it's an easy place to meet people. I honestly can't believe what a value this place is for the high quality of the rooms / shared spaces and the incredibly personable staff. One of the best things about it is that it's away from the touristy plaza area and there are excellent places to eat nearby! It was a joy to stay here.

Excellent stay. Very comfortable room and shared spaces. We rented a scooter a few days directly from the property which was very convenient. Location is a little away from downtown which we found to be more quiet. Felt safe walking around even at night. There are several great food options within a few blocks. Would definitely stay again when in the area.

Even Johnny Depp would love to Stay at la Perle Noire
We had a fantastic stay at La Perle Noire. A great little boutique style hotel run by a great group of people living their dream. The room was clean, comfortable and the shared spaces of pool, kitchen and rooftop deck were everything you might need for a vacation in Cozumel...... Very good value for the money.
Everybody we met were so helpful and pleasant
I would stay here again in an instant provides there is a room available..... I'm betting La Perle Noire is going to be very busy and rooms will be hard to get! Well done to everyone at la Perle Noire

Great place to stay in Cozumel
A friendly enviroment with everything needed for a vacation in San Miguel
Great value for the cost, comfortable bed very clean, hot water and all wrapped up in a unique boutique hotel.
I would not hesitate to stay here again if there is availability ..... but I wouldn't count on it..... The Black Pearl will be busy..... Good luck getting in.... It will be worth it!
