Beautiful hotel
Wonderful staff and a hotel that has been made with so much love. We appreciated all the details in our room, the comfortable beds and the gorgeous grounds.
Our only suggestion: more vegetarian food on the menu. We found something to eat, but more choice (and veggies) would have been nice.

Beautiful Hotel in Remote Area
My girlfriends and I had the best time at Casa Regina! The manager took us on some great excursions. The food, drinks and rooms were beautiful. This is an authentic experience... not everything is perfect, but everything is wonderful.

Don’t recommend staying here
I do not recommend staying at Casa Regina.
First, some good about the place: beautiful location and landscaping and lots of nice places to sit and enjoy the view. We had the room with the big tub which was nice to relax in.
Now for the bad:
-From the day we arrived, it was unclear who we should talk to about anything. The woman who checked us in told us to ask her for anything we needed, and then we never saw her again. The reception office sat vacant and locked for our entire 5 day stay. The people who worked in the restaurant area tried to help us, but would just say someone else should be helping us and text someone on their phone. The staff that were around sat on their phones all day and were not very helpful and seemed like they really didn’t like being there. I started texting the hotel on WhatsApp to try to schedule a Temazcal and finally started to get responses after about a day (Temazcal never happened). Communication was lacking at this place.
-Our room was not cleaned in the 5 days we were there, and I had to keep asking for toilet paper and soap. When I asked if the room could be cleaned on day 3, they responded “maybe” and didn’t clean the room. This is a very expensive hotel for the area and advertises as a Boutique Hotel and I feel some room freshening during a stay (especially if requested!) isn’t an unreasonable expectation.
-The beds are laughably hard. I actually checked to see if it was a mattress and not a piece of wood.
-The food was not good. We tried about 4 things on the small menu and then gave up because all were bland, overcooked, and not fresh. I definitely recommend eating in town and getting substantially more delicious Oaxacan food. Cocktails were okay.
-Overall cleanliness was bad. The pool got pretty slimy while we were there, there was garbage by the pool that sat for days, and there was broken glass under our bed.
-For what you get, this place is very overpriced. It was the most expensive place we stayed in our 3 weeks traveling around Oaxaca and by far our least pleasant stay. It does not meet the standards of a Boutique Hotel. We were glad to have a rental car so we could leave this place easily each day.
We loved exploring Mitla and the surrounding areas, practicing our Spanish, eating delicious food, seeing beautiful art and architecture, and meeting incredibly kind and warm people. We just wish that Casa Regina wasn’t part of the experience.

El lugar donde está ubicado es excelente!! Las habitaciones muy lindas y rústicas, pero al no contar con Aire Acondicionado sugeriría mosquiteros.
También recomendaría seguridad en el acceso principal ya que todo el tiempo el portón esta abierto y también al salir del lugar quita vista para incorporarte a la calle.
Está lindo pero se me hace caro para solo ir a dormir. Si piensas quedarte la mayoría del tiempo en el hotel, tal vez así valga la pena.

EL PERO SERVICIO QUE HE EXPERIMENTADO EN MEXICO
A pesar de que el hotel es simpatico, el servicio es simplemente pésimo. Fue el peor servicio, punto. La actitud de las camareras, la falta de cuidado, la falta de interés en ayudar a los huéspedes. Eramos 2 amigos y dos parejas, y no les importo en lo mas mínimo atender una simple sugerencia: La de incorporar ensalada en el menu, que no tiene nada de vegetales. La respuesta a la sugerencia fue: "La gente en Oaxaca no come vegetales" y hágale como quiera.

We were 6 people, planing to take 4 rooms and decided to move to a different hotel.
