Stay away from this hotel!
The guy at the reception has no explanation for us but only informs that the booking was canceled and they have no available rooms left. He was extremely rude, could not explain why they canceled before our arrival or why they had not responded to our messages. We had other credit cards to use as payment as well as cash. It seems that the hotel had a chance to give the room to someone walking in from the street (and paying a higher rate) and decided to make a little extra money. This way of conducting business is just extremely unprofessional and we were left in a really bad situation; in a big city, no place to stay and it was getting late. The guy at the reception could not care less about our situation. We asked repeatedly to talk to the manager, which he refused. He told us the manager was unavailable but as it turned out that was another lie, as he contacted him after we had insisted several times. In the end they could do nothing to help us out of this situation. I have never received such an unprofessional and disrespectful treatment at any accommodation.
Needless to say that Booking.com is following up on this incident, and we are currently awaiting feedback on potential consequences for the hotel.

Nice affordable hotel with parking in the city center
My son had a huge room with a fridge, I had a small room with hardly any storage space for my luggage.
A huge bathroom though, very good shower and way too spacious, I'd rather had some more m2 of that bathroom in my actual room.
The aircon is set on 26C and you can only switch it on and off.
Parking is inside the courtyard, which also makes it very noisy with people coming and going.
Good beds, good pillows, super clean. Very efficient and fast check-in
The hotel is a little hard to find because it has a very small facade, but behind it is a medium-sized hotel with 2 stories of rooms.
Room prices 399 MXN which is good value for money!
Not many COVID regulations though and I doubt the cleaning was according to COVID prevention standards. Like so many hotels in Mexico. (And probably around the world)
