stay in Montenegro
We were at the Hotel Kumbor in Montenegro. The location is magnificent, the sea-view rooms incredible. The hotel staff is very hardworking and professional. The Fram activity leaders were very friendly. Montenegro is a magnificent country, very natural and preserved, and the inhabitants are very welcoming. We chose to rent a car at the hotel and we are happy with it. We went on the rafting excursion through the hotel. The experience was very beautiful and the canyon breathtaking. The only negative point about our trip is the border crossing between Croatia and Montenegro. Indeed, Fram makes the choice to have us land in Dubrovnik. On the way there, we landed at 8:30 AM and arrived at the hotel at 12:30 PM. On the way back, we left the hotel at 10:20 AM for a 7:00 PM flight. We therefore spent more time on the bus than on the plane. So we lost a day of vacation. I therefore advise against this destination in July or August as long as Montenegro has not joined the EU. For information, a group of French people present when we were there spent 17 hours on the bus to cross the border!!!

Nous comprenons parfaitement votre frustration concernant les temps d’attente à la frontière entre la Croatie et le Monténégro. Malheureusement, cette situation est particulièrement fréquente en juillet et août, périodes durant lesquelles le nombre de voyageurs et de véhicules en transit est très important. Les contrôles douaniers et les délais de passage sont indépendants de l’hôtel et de notre équipe, et nous n’avons malheureusement aucune possibilité d’intervenir pour accélérer le passage de la frontière.
Nous regrettons sincèrement que ces temps d’attente aient impacté votre séjour et votre perception de la destination. Nous espérons néanmoins que les nombreux beaux souvenirs de votre séjour au Monténégro resteront les plus importants et que nous aurons de la chance de vous accueillir de nouveau.

Would not recommend for a relaxing stay
We stayed at Carine Kumbor Hotel during the second half of May and booked expecting a quality, relaxing stay, as the hotel appeared fully booked and well-rated. Unfortunately, while there were a few positives, overall we would not return or recommend this hotel if you are looking for proper rest and good service.
Starting with the positives: the location is convenient, very close to Tivat Airport and around 10 minutes from the nearest town. The hotel itself is relatively small, with a private beach and beautiful views from the sea view rooms. The sea is crystal clear and the bay is very clean, although guests should be aware that there are many sea urchins and there were no warning signs anywhere. The rooms appear recently refurbished and the beds were comfortable.
Unfortunately, that is where the positives end for us.
Housekeeping throughout the stay was extremely poor. The room was clean upon arrival, but afterwards the service barely qualified as housekeeping. Floors were never vacuumed or mopped during our stay, towels were simply folded and moved around, and the shower drain was not working properly. Despite booking a room with two bathrooms, we only received one set of towels initially, and some of them were torn.
The hotel also charges a €20 deposit per beach towel, and if you want a fresh towel, there is an additional €2 charge each time.
Another major issue was the noise. There is ongoing construction directly next to the hotel starting around 8am daily. In addition, staff members appear to live in rooms on one side of the hotel, and unfortunately we were placed directly next to them. There were loud gatherings and parties almost every evening until at least midnight. We could not close the balcony doors because the air conditioning barely worked and did not cool the room properly, especially in 30-degree weather. Reception acknowledged the issue and said it was the entertainment staff, but nothing was done and no alternative room was available.
The food was mediocre — acceptable, but repetitive with very little variety. Meat and fish dishes seemed to be reused frequently, although you would not go hungry. The beach bar was closed during our stay, and the lobby bar was not truly “all inclusive,” as many drinks still required an additional charge. Drinks included in the package were only available during meal times from machines in the main restaurant. There were no fresh juices or proper cocktails included.
The pool area itself was fine, but on our last day a newly arrived group became extremely intoxicated, and my travelling companion witnessed someone vomiting directly into the pool. It was unclear how or whether this was properly cleaned afterwards.
Overall, this hotel has potential because of the location and views, but the lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, noise issues, and disappointing service made this far from a relaxing holiday experience.

I had booked a Deluxe Sea View room, but upon arrival I was assigned a room in an adjacent building of the hotel, which had not been disclosed to me at the time of booking. The room offered only a partial sea view, which was significantly obstructed by vegetation and soil embankments.
I requested a room change, but I was informed that the hotel was fully booked. The way this situation was handled, as well as the gesture made by the hotel manager, was disappointing and unacceptable. I expected a more professional approach and a fair solution to an issue that resulted from the hotel not providing the room category that had been reserved.

Very good
Very beautiful hotel, small downside regarding the food and drinks which remain very average compared to other FRAM hotels... however, a big strong point for the FRAM entertainment team, bravo to Kévin and his team, very responsive, a big thank you to Jahed for coming to get me in the mountains when I got lost, you are all wonderful.

Nice hotel, avoid arriving via Dubrovnik.
Nice hotel, the all-inclusive restaurant package is very good, however there is not much for a snack (only local pastry that was not great - no ice cream, a shame for the summer).
The beach is crushed limestone (surely brought in for construction) not great, fortunately outside the swimming area there is clear water with rocks and fish.
Always had a lounge chair available in high season and a parasol for shade.
Pleasant pool.
Not really any seaside walk possible, I found it quite isolated, but Portonovi is accessible on foot and then there is a long beach walk.
Avoid arriving via Croatia because customs waiting time can be very long, we were lucky arriving very early in the morning with only 2.5 hours, for the return flight at 7:05 PM we had to leave the hotel at 10:20 AM! Some during our stay stayed 17 hours on the bus!
