Old and well maintained wooden hotel, located up on the mountain slope, close to E6 road, cca. half way in between Oslo and Trondheim. Vintage decorations keeps the look of an old Norwegian ski lodge. Very clean room, comfortable beds, decent buffet breakfast, but nothing locally made, all products came from supermarket. We arrived late on the evening and we didn't try the dinner option. Outside area is fitted with multiple resting spots, so if the weather is good you can enjoy the clean air and peaceful surroundings.

Good but table service to improve

Nice welcome
Nice room from another time, in complete calm
Dinner at 19:00 tapante and no time for an aperitif before
Too bad.
Everyone is served the same and too quickly without giving customers time to consume
No digestive proposal
In 45 minutes between the main course and dessert it is settled
The Owner removes the plates quickly with a dessert on bof wheels!
Good Value Award nevertheless

Friendly operators

We had booked 2 rooms by mistake and due to all kinds of circumstances arrived a day later than planned around noon. We'd been driving all night. One room was urgently prepared so we could get some sleep.
In the end we only had to pay 1 room for 1 night.
It is a simple hotel with very friendly managers

The price too high for a male chamber.

A lovely historic place that exudes cosiness, but a little off the beaten track. There were several hikers staying. Healthy home cooking at nice high prices. A small men's room at the top with a view out to the yard/parking lot. Nice view from the restaurant over the fjord. I don't think the price matches what is offered.

This family-owned traditional Norwegian inn is a wonderful alternative to the dry corporate alternatives often experienced in travel. The owner and his wife are friendly and helpful, and the hotel is clean. Located up in the mountains overlooking the green valley below you will not have to look hard for a good view nor will it be difficult make lifelong memories here. Pilgrim and Norwegians frequent this hotel and they easy to get to know in this comfortable environment. If you are looking to experience the real Norway you have found it.
