For gourmets and adventurers.
We were traveling with a camper and found and visited the location through the NortripApp. For one dinner (highly recommended, the atmosphere was cozy, the food was very tasty and special!), the power supply and the parking space for the first night were free of charge. The dog sledding trip was the highlight of the trip for us. We stayed there for a total of 3 nights and were able to shower in the sauna upon request. Another experience was the Northern Lights during our stay. There are charging stations for electric cars in the parking lot. If it weren't so far away, we would go back soon! A rather disconcerting place, between refinement and let-go
The arrival, at the exit of the road, says things well: one wonders whether it is the lodge described by many reviews or an uncertain area, with kennel and frames difficult to identify.
The main house, which hosts the restaurant and two bedrooms is pleasant, but in the middle of a bric-a-brac, completed buildings, others under construction.
This composite character of the place is found in the room, large and pleasant but where passes a duct that heats it a lot, which forces to leave the window open and, therefore, exposes to the howls of dogs that are triggered regularly throughout the night; if we add that the view from the room as from the restaurant overlooks a stopped construction site, one will judge that everything is not done for the satisfaction of the customer.
The quality of the table is indisputable: the dinner, on the whole, was good (reindeer tartare ), even very good (cod with cabbage and asparagus, subtle); the main course, based on elk and mushrooms, was tasty, but it is not clear what a mayonnaise came to do there... Very pleasant dessert with rhubarb. Very friendly service.
This three-course menu (+ 3 appetizers and dessert) is charged 895 kr, which is not given even for Norway, but there are good products and real know-how.
There was a certain imbalance in the menu (lots of meat) and the bread was not at the level of quality touted by many reviews.
In the end, we regret the need to choose before arrival the type of menu (country style or fine dining), as well as the number of "races" (3 or 5) without having any idea what will be found there. It is understandable that cooking for a small number of diners essentially local products, the restaurant owner wants to know in advance what he needs to prepare, but the customer also wants to know what he will eat, even, sometimes, want to have a choice.
The breakfast lived up to the general opinions: very good overall; bread, better than dinner (but no brioche on the program); special mention for scrambled eggs, absolutely excellent.
All in all, an address where you eat well, but not convincing on all levels: by the let-go of the setting and the paradox of being in the middle of the forest to be awakened by the howls of dogs, an experience we would have liked to have avoided: a hotel must be concerned to allow its guests to sleep properly; this is unfortunately not the case here.

Dreamlike - Perfect
We stayed a total of two nights at the property and it was just fantastic. The reception is not so easy to find but everyone working there helps you in a very loving tone. The highlight is certainly the huskys especially for us dog lovers. They are certainly the center of the whole place and will be great involved the activities offered with them are a dream. We will definitely come back to the dog sled tours in winter. Greetings from South Tyrol - Italy

Stay At Trasti & Trine For A Bucket List Experience!
This is hands down the very best boutique hotel where we have stayed! Everything about Trasti & Trine is top notch - the chalet accommodations, the gourmet meals, the dog sledding experience, the sauna, and the winter wonderland setting. We booked the Friends & Lovers package which included champagne and chocolates on arrival, all our gourmet meals, dog sledding and sauna time. The food is worthy of a Michelin star and I will write about that under the restaurant listing.
The dog sledding was quite an experience because we learned how to harness the dogs ourselves and we mushed the sleds ourselves! I admit I was a little nervous at first having never done it before, but I quickly got the hang of it and was sad when I had to change to let my hubby be the musher. The countryside is indescribably beautiful - a true winter wonderland. Trine and her daughter Hanna are professional dog sledders and have even raced in the Iditarod! They were excellent teachers and very down to earth.
The chalet where we stayed (named Alaska) had floor to ceiling windows that brought the nature up close and the northern lights as well, especially in the sitting room upstairs. Breakfast in bed was made to order and such a treat. The sauna was a wood fired sauna and we took turns going outside to do a mini cold plunge by rubbing snow on ourselves and then going back into the sauna. It was invigorating and relaxing.
Thank you Johnny, Trine, Hanna and all the staff for the experience of a lifetime. We will never forget our stay with you and we hope to be back again!

A winter fairy tale
....beautiful cottage with love and yet functionally furnished.
Super comfortable beds and on pre-order the sauna is heated.
The food is unbelievably good and detailed / absolutely reserve the five course menu. If there is still aurora borealis, the pampering program is perfect.
Also the breakfast is delightful and the visit was overall a dream.
