Hotel and room was super clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Location is great, walking distance to city and has a tram station right outside the reception, just perfect.

Request a room on the opposite side of the hotel to the tram stop

This May we stayed four nights at the Anker Hotel, the weather was still cool, after two nights in our original room I requested either a fan to deal with having to close the window to block out the excessive street noise and for some air circulation or a room change, I was offered both, I gratefully took the room change for the remaining two nights. The issue is that the tram/bus stop in on a busy side street and these services continue late into the night, plus there's always foot traffic. While the hotel is in a leafy neighbourhood and well located for walking into the city and train station it is too handy to trams and buses for a quiet night's sleep. There was no air-conditioning I couldn't imagine what it would be like in warmer months. Apart from this, the original room was comfortable, the second room I believe was an upgrade which I great appreciated. We enjoyed access to streaming services on the TV, or casting, there was no mini refrigerator or basin sink plug. A generous breakfast was served in a large cafeteria style room, busy times varied each day, cooked dishes while tasty were only just warm. Most days the single coffee machine had a queue, not so for us as tea drinkers. All staff encountered were pleasant.

Great value!

One of the "cheaper" hotels, but Anker Hotel is close to so many things. We hit most of Oslo's city landmarks in about 20 minutes on foot. Also, very impressive breakfast (though during the busy breakfast hour, it feels like an army mess tent!)! Spacious rooms. Clean, comfortable. Can't ask for more.

Well located hotel

I enjoyed my stay at the Anker. However, there was no ventilation in my room or AC. As you open the windows, no screens were observed to prevent the bugs from coming in. What was upseting during my stay was the extremely small shower. I am 6'0 tall 200 lbs and I could not wash my lower legs when the glass doors were shut.
The highlight of the time there was the very good breakfast buffy which had pretty much anything and was very fresh. The staff was very courteous.

Hotel convenient for its location and well-connected, with small rooms and bathrooms but very comfortable beds and showers. Excellent breakfast, kind staff, and good cleanliness. We also had a nice view from the room. Parking right outside the hotel door, very expensive but useful. The neighborhood is not disreputable, it's just that a couple of blocks away there is a facility that helps people with addictions, so it can happen that you meet someone not in perfect condition, but without it being a problem.
