Very nice stay

A wonderful place to immediately feel at home. Chene and Yolanda are great hosts who help you in all matters. The property is located on the edge of Hout Bay and everything is within easy reach by car. Very nice and clean rooms. Great staff. A pleasure to be here.

Beautiful and Calm Retreat

What a beautiful hotel nestled away by Table Mountain. The suite we were in was beautiful, the night sky views were STUNNING! We saw the Large Magellanic Cloud for the first time the skies were so clear. The breakfast was delicious and served in a beautiful room and the hotel staff were very welcoming.

Love staying here. Beautiful property, wonderful staff, slept like a baby. Breakfast is amazing. Pool is simple but lovely. I even worked out with the owner, Martin. Very family-owned vibe. Get a SPA/massage from Susie. She was amazing. All in all, a wonderful place, run by wonderful people. I will return! Oh yeah, spend a beach day at Llandudno, perhaps the prettiest beach I've ever seen at sunset, frigid waters but just a lovely place to send an afternoon.

Simply the Best

We loved this place so much, my daughter has not stopped talking about it. The rooms are big, airy, and cozy. Our suite (Lavender room) had two large bedrooms and two large bathrooms. The bathrooms had the best smelling shampoo and hand soup, which was in larger, reusable containers, something I appreciate as it uses less plastic than those tiny bottles you get in many hotels. We made immediate use of the fireplace as it was chilly when we arrived in August 2025. The beds are comfortable as is the sofa. The lounge area/dining room is also very comfortable and the entire property has absolutely stunning views of table mountain and the surrounding area, including down to the coastline from certain angles. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is wonderful - a choice of cold foods (my daughter loved the yogurt and the banana bread) as well as hot entrees made to order, along with a selection of teas, coffees and hot chocolate. We wish we had booked for longer as all our subsequent accommodations paled in comparison. My only warning is that though the location is lovely and quiet, it is a bit removed from central cape town and you will need a car or driver to get around and see the sights.

Fantastic Small Hotel - Highly Recommended!

This beautifully appointed newly opened hotel is ideally located in Hout Bay, a suburb of Cape Town. A group of 15 of us from the UK stayed in the hotel for three nights in early Jan 24. I cannot recommend the Umoya more highly. Hotel manager Marco and Derrick, his assistant were amazing and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We also had the privilege of meeting Martin, the owner and his family who also were most welcoming. Breakfast was served every morning in the lounge area and was consistently outstanding. If you are planning a trip to Cape Town, I would highly recommend this hotel.
