The Lodge where time stands still and the bush comes alive!

My experience at Raptor Retreat Game Lodge is always excellent, The hospitality from the owners Sharmaine & Keith and the staff is just top tier, I always arrive and leave feeling like I am home, The rooms are all so unique, clean and spacious, the delicious meals are so well made & hearty. My Highlight is always getting to have the Elephants come by the units at the pool to have a sip and just having to spot wildlife from the room and the main lodge at any given time, being in the heart of the bush and recharging is what my stay is Raptor Retreat is always about. Oh and you cannot forget the Game Drives, and quad bike safari, those have been my favourite activities so far. I just love this lodge and highly recommend it for the ultimate bush escape!

Amazing

Had the most beautiful amazing experience here, the lodge looks stunning, pictures don’t do it any justice! The staff is amazing and the owner Sharmaine is an absolute gem! They go out of their way to make your stay a remarkable one. Definitely a must visit 10/10!!

Perfect stay for our honeymoon!

We went to the raptor retreat for our honeymoon and couldn’t have picked a more perfect place. They made our stay very special and the retreat itself is stunning, designed so well! The game drives in the morning and afternoon were amazing and if you can do a quad bike safari as it’s a different perspective than the jeep.
The staff and owners will go above and beyond for you, this place is worth the stay!

Wonderful!

Our stay was simply surreal! We stayed in the Elephant Suite and each moment exceeded our expectations. We were greeted at the airport by an extremely friendly and patient staff. At the exit, we already spotted giraffes, zebras and, shortly after, hippopotams taking sun. At all times, he stopped the car so we could enjoy the landscape and record our first photos. When we arrived at the hotel, we were welcomed with great affection by the whole staff, with a beautiful welcome song, fresh water and refreshing towels. The room is beautiful, just like in the photos, always impeccably arranged. In the morning it was clean and organized, and in the evening we found the bed ready and the mosquito boat carefully assembled. Anthoni, our guide in the game drives from 5am to 4pm, was exceptional. With great knowledge of fauna and nature, he was able to locate animals by observing footprints and even odors, making each safari a unique experience. After the tours, we were welcomed by delicious food prepared by Constance, a true comfort in the cold nights of the savannah. All other staff were also extremely attentive and helpful. All we have to do is thank you for the hospitality, dedication and care during the entire stay. There is absolutely nothing negative to report. It was an unforgettable experience, which will forever remain in our memories and which we hope to repeat one day.

If you’re thinking of booking - do it!!

It was an absolutely fantastic stay, we loved our time there so much.
We flew to Jberg and got the shuttle which Sharmaine kindly arranged for us, and arrived at the lodge to a warm welcome. All the staff were so kind and welcoming, especially Constance who was a beautiful soul and made fantastic food, including great vegetarian options! The game drives with Anthony & Keith were amazing and the room (Buffalo) was stunning and luxury. we had the best time and hope to return!
