Sea views, breakfast included
The hotel has free tea, coffee and hot chocolate from a machine in the breakfast area, which is available all day and night. There are also vending machines selling other drinks and snacks.
Breakfast is included, and when you go down to breakfast, you get yourself a drink from the machine and they bring out your breakfast tray. The first morning we were a bit early, but she still brought our breakfast out when we got there which was really nice. It included fruit juice, pastries (savoury and sweet), croissant, and sweetcorn soup (powdered, add hot water from the machine). It was tasty and filling, and ideal because they could bring your whole tray out at once and you could eat it in what order you want.
The hotel also includes a private hot bath, which you can book in 50-min slots. After coming back from a very cold and windy day out at about 3:30pm, we asked about the bath, and the 4pm slot was available, which was great. They give you a key and you take that and your towels, and let yourself in. It was great, and just what we needed to warm us through.
Because the area is popular with day-trippers, there are lots of restaurants doing lunch, but not so many open in the evening. On a midweek in January, even some of those that advertised evening opening didn't seem to do it. The first night we walked across the bridge to Enoshima island and ate a restaurant there. The second night we got pot-noodles, and curry-bread from 7-11 and ate it in the breakfast area.
