Lobby area is nice but that was it. Room had bugs
Mattresses were worn out. Pillows were bad. Windows were dirty. Bathroom was full of black mold
Room was hot. Service at check in was excellent. Way overpriced! View was beautiful but hard to see through dirty windows.

Lunch box, si puo' fare meglio
The restaurant is in one of the large, bright rooms overlooking the sea. The service is courteous and professional. The lunch box prepared for the occasion is very beautiful to look at, but the fact that everything is cold leaves much to be desired. A shame.

The Petit Luxury, an overnight trip within a day trip, is also a good thing. It was classy.
Even though I had lived in Tokyo for many years, I shunned Kamakura and couldn't get anywhere. (The reason is that I often change trains (it takes more than 90 minutes from my home, even though Kamakura is the next prefecture (34 km straight)), and the highway is not very accessible on the way, and the Shonan area is always congested. It means parking is hard, too.)
In recent years, the number of inbound customers has increased dramatically and the situation is overtourism, and I hear that the Enoden, a small train, is crowded during the day even on weekdays.
My family asked me to go to Kamakura. I have been to Enoshima in the last 20 years or so, but this is the first time I have visited Kamakura in 45 years.
I hate traffic, so I decided to take the train this time.
After sightseeing in Kamakura (Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, etc.), we took the Enoden to a hotel.
Even though Enoden is crowded on weekdays, it's a packed train. There are too many inbound customers. I was about to be left behind. (I wonder what the holidays will be like with this.)
I checked the time and walked along the coast to use the shuttle bus from Shichirigahama Station.
(I later learned that walking towards Kamakura would take the inclined elevator (like a cable car) from the front of the building where the hotel banquette is located to the main building.)
There is a hotel on the slope and the front desk is on the third floor.
I've been away from golf for many years. It felt like a clubhouse on a golf course.
The rooms on the third floor were accessible without using elevators.
We used the inclined elevator to go out on the beach again and enjoy the evening view.
Plan use with dinner breakfast, and dinner was Japanese cuisine with a course meal from "Onzoji Kiyoyasu Tei". A calm atmosphere with fine ingredients. You were right.
It was a comfortable stay, with many people staying in not a large hotel feeling more elegant.
The breakfast buffet was delicious the next morning.
Staying within a day trip is also a good idea.
Before it was still crowded, we got on the Enoden and went sightseeing in places like the Great Buddha of Kamakura and Hasedera.
I would like to stay if I get another chance.

Mold Warning
WARNING: HEALTH HAZARD
The rooms, the bathroom, and especially the air conditioning system are full of mold. It smells musty and is absolutely harmful to health. The hotel showed zero interest until we reported the situation to the tour operator. Even then, there was no acknowledgment whatsoever.
The mattresses are completely worn out.
The balcony is not a balcony but at best a loggia; there are no seating facilities at all.
In the lobby one can only sit between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.; afterwards, the only option is to return to the room.
Rooms are not thoroughly cleaned—there were jelly beans under my bed, which could not have been overlooked if anyone had checked beneath it. The room is not worth a single cent, let alone the excessive price the hotel is charging.
Our so-called “Deluxe Room” was located in a passageway, making it noisy as many guests had to walk by.
The hotel brusquely argues in response to some reviews that “old rooms are fine.” I have stayed in hotels that were 30 years old, but under no circumstances is mold acceptable.
We asked the hotel for a price reduction, which was curtly rejected.
We will, of course, report the matter in detail to the public health office in Kamakura. Something must be done to protect future guests.
I find the lack of acknowledgment both shocking and disgraceful—an embarrassment for Japanese hotels and for the city.
