Everything was great. You need to ask the staff to help with bags otherwise it is not offered. But upon asking they were helpful. There were steep stairs to my room. Carrying a bag up was hard but I didn’t want to hurt myself trying to carry them down.

Problems in old buildings

As is often the case with old building renovations...the rooms are not comfortable. Noise, temperature, etc...
It was winter, so I had to check out like that in the morning, with the air conditioning alone cold at my feet.
The food was good.

Recommended for Pre- and Post-Praise Visits to Kashima Shrine

Little did I know there was such a wonderful place, just over an hour's drive from Tokyo. The historic district of the city is well maintained, and the rooms in the old houses were also great, as they were renovated so as not to spoil the scenery. The French food wasn't imposing the chef's concept either, it was delicious. The hotel is very cost-effective.

This traditional merchant house converted hotel is lovely. We own the entire building with two floors. One tiny living room on the ground floor, a bath house, a separate toilet near the entrance, along with a spacious bathroom with the second living room on the second floor. It’s airy and full of scent of wood. However, the bedroom is facing the road without sound proof windows, it was very noisy throughout the night.
