Great location.probably the closest hotel to the station. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Clean .room has all the amenities

Very conveniently located hotel in Kokura
This hotel locates right next to Kokura station, and literally just minutes walk away from the station east exit (the busy side), but not sheltered during rainy days. Being located just next to the station has the inevitable inconvenience of rail track noises, but not every train that stopover or passes by produced noticeable noise, and that trains practically stop shortly after midnight. We had a spacious non-smoking twin room on a higher floor directly facing rail tracks, so perhaps quieter rooms are on the other side facing street. But I suspect twin rooms are all facing rail tracks, at least for our floor.
The hotel only offer 1 room card per room regardless of how many guests inside. The room amenities are standard of a typical Japanese business hotel, which include bathtub, mini fridge, kettle, humidifier etc, and surprisingly, they even have a microwave inside the room! There are several supermarkets nearby, so it's convenience getting food there, but that said, dining around Kokura station is hardly a concern with plenty of restaurants nearby, including fast food. In my opinion, Kokura offers even better dining options than the busier Hakata station. The hotel also have coin laundry available. The shortcoming has to be their service, which I personally feel falling short of conventional Japanese standard. For guests staying multiple nights, the hotel only provides room cleaning upon request, but stated towels and free amenities pack would be provided if guests opted out of room cleaning. We did not mind doing away with room cleaning, but the hassle of having to collect towels from the front desk personally is not what I considered hospitality, other hotel at least hang it outside the room door. And they completely disregarded the free amenities pack, though I can hardly be bothered with that.
Other than that, we find our stay average, the best attributes just have to be their lower pricing and close proximity to Kokura station, that part is almost unbeatable.
As a side note, guests have to pay a separate city tax of 200 Yen per person per night on site. I think most other hotels would factor that in their pricing instead.

That’s easy to find. Great location. Just right next to Kokura Station. However a bit small for the room as well as the hot spring.

I am more than satisfied for my two-night stay at Hotel LiVEMAX Kokura. Not only does it have an excellent location (right next to Kokura Station), it is equipped with a microwave in each individual room. The room is clean, spacious, and bright. I cannot ask for more as it is truly a value for money hotel. If I ever visit Japan again, I will definitely put Hotel LiVEMAX first on my list.
