Affordable business hotel near Kochi station, best for sightseeing base
高知駅の南口から徒歩2〜3分程度のところにある、リーズナブルな価格で宿泊できるビジネスホテルです。外観・ロビーの様子から古さの目立つホテルのように思いますが、多くのビジネスホテルと同様に各客室は綺麗に保たれているため、ホテルそのものの古さはそれ程気にならないと思います（一部のバスルームにもはや落としきれない汚れが散見される場合がありますが、それも滞在時に大いに気になる程ではないと思います）。部屋の大きさは一般的なビジネスホテルと同程度かと思いますが、（私が宿泊した部屋がたまたまそうだったのかもしれませんが）壁や部屋の隅のでっぱりの構造が多く、それが部屋を窮屈に感じさせています。あくまで高知市内、あるいは高知県内の観光の拠点として利用するに留めた方がいいかもしれません。
スタッフの接客対応は特段失礼というものではありませんでしたが、やや素っ気無さを感じました。とは言え、高知観光の拠点としてこのホテルを利用するに留めるのであれば、スタッフの接客対応の質も特段気になる程ではないと思います。
なお、出入口は階段状になっており、且つスロープが別に設置されていないため、車椅子等の障碍を持つ方は利用しづらいと感じるでしょう。
A budget-friendly business hotel located about a 2 - 3 minute walk from the south exit of Kochi Station. While the hotel's exterior and lobby may appear somewhat dated, the guest rooms are well-maintained, much like those of many other business hotels. The overall age of the hotel is unlikely to be a major concern, though some bathrooms may have stains that can no longer be removed. However, these are not significant enough to affect the comfort of a stay.
The room size is standard for a business hotel, but (perhaps just in the particular room I stayed in) the presence of protrusions on the walls and corners made the space feel somewhat cramped. This hotel is best suited as a base for exploring Kochi City or the wider Kochi Prefecture rather than as a place to relax.
The staff’s service was not impolite, but it felt a bit distant. That said, if you are only using this hotel as a base for sightseeing in Kochi, the level of service should not be a major concern.
In addition, the entrance and exit are on a staircase, and there is no separate ramp, so people in wheelchairs or with other disabilities will find it difficult to use.

Not too good but not too bad
This is the second time I stayed at this hotel so I thought I would write the review in English just in case some foreign visitors are contemplating a stay here. The first time I stayed here I booked a room for single occupancy. When I went into the assigned room I was shocked to see how small the room was. It probably is the smallest hotel room I had ever seen in Japan. Since this was my second visit I was expecting a small room so I took it in stride. The room is clean enough so as not to hate it. For the price of about $30 on weekdays it could be called a bargain. They will give you a choice of complimentary drink. I always choose a glass of beer. This time they threw in several piece of fried fish that tasted really good. You get these every night of your stay.
During my previous stay shower temperature was just warm during evenings. It could have been that several guests were taking shower at the same time. This time there was no such problem.
Toilet is those shower toilet, but it seems very old type. There is a public bath on the second floor which men can use from 18:00 for 2 hours or so and women after that. This time I went in and tried it because my knee was hurting and I hesitated to cross over the deep bathtub in the room. I tried it two days and hot water was super hot so I could not get in. I just washed myself outside with shower. I stayed 3 nights and then 2 nights. Two of the nights the bathroom was closed for maintenance. There is also a sauna room but when I went in it was not on or getting ready to be on. Cold!
If you are staying 2 or more nights, they do not let you stay in the room. You have to go out between 10am and 4pm. I spent most of the time at the new library.
If you book a package with breakfast, the meal is Japanese style. I am Japanese but I prefer to eat bread and drink coffee. There were some pieces of sliced bread and a pot of coffee. They will prepare curry rice for you as a substitute of Japanese food breakfast but you have to let them know the night before. I did not know that since no one told me so I missed it.
Overall if you just want to sleep in a hotel room, it should be fine. Staff are very nice always smiling at you when you come in or go out. It is located only a 5 minutes walk from JR rail station. To the city center it would be 15-20 minute walk. Kochi is not very big town.

A mix of Tradition and Modernity
Closely located to the Kochi train station, this hotel offers few amenities, but offers a good mix between modernity (large room, free wifi) and tradition (futon bed, only Japanese breakfast and, although rooms are equipped with a bathroom, there's also a 'common' traditional bathroom - with separate hours for male and female).

居酒屋が隣接していて、高知ならではの料理とお酒が楽しめて良いです。大浴場の男女の時間帯、男が19〜21時なのが少し早すぎだと思いました。仕事後にチェックインすると少ししか入れませんでした。曜日や週で変えても良いと思います。サウナは良かったですが水風呂が使えなく残念でした。部屋は少し古く狭くにおいも少し気になりました。
