Come for star gazing activity

The hotel had been recently renovated so the rooms were clean and new . Parking ample . The staff do not speak English at all.
Onsens were lovely . The outdoor onsens were great . Free coffee, cocoa and drinks in lobby till 8 pm only .
What was disappointing was the quality of food . Thought it had declined since the last visit 2024. Also though we (9 pax) had a table reserved for dinner , we were all brought to a corner just to be told that the buffet only lasted 90 min. The waiter could have just brought the card stating that the buffet only lasted 90 min to our table . That was guest service.
Then we wanted the receptionist to help us book a lunch reservation nearby the next day but he was so reluctant to do so and pushed a travel call centre card to us . In the end he did call for us after we told him about guest service !
The old man who conducted the night star viewing was not around anymore. Instead there was this guy who was not really interested nor passionate about the activity leading us out to see the stars . That was truly a let down .
This hotel had so much potential . The staff had to be better trained - maybe even get some English speaking ones .

Great value for all

Hotel with a great view located near Kurokawa onsen village.
The onsen was great and the food were tasty. They use Kumamoto seasonal best ingredients.
The room are spacious, some room only has the toilets and you can use the public bath on the B1 Floor.

Senomoto is great for families using it as a base for Beppu

We had the half board as a couple getaway, during our 10 day stint exploring Kyushu with in-laws. The property had clean rooms with modern furnishings. The yukata and slippers provided was very comfortable to lounge around the compound. Amenities are avilable upon check in at the lobby. You can choose your size of Yukata. Thoughtful touch and not just one size fits all.
We had booked the private onsen for 1000yen. It was rather frills free but was wonderful as a precursor before our dinner at 6.30pm. U could choose from these timings: 6, 6.30 and 7. The half board was worth it as it had free flow liquer. Try the Hakutake Umepon!
The next morning before breakfast, we explored the outdoor onsen (gender separated). It was surprisingly quite crowded for the female one. Very picturesque and tranquil albeit for the squeeze at the shower area.
The breakfast was rather basic, after the fanfare that was dinner. But decent. One can have a short walk outside to explore the nearby swing, a nearby gift shop, or even fly a drone in their sprawling outdoor premise.

Breakfast and dinner quality are not good.
Much worse off than we visited in June 2024.

Splendid newly renovated hotel with heavenly star gazing activity.

We came back again because we simply love this hotel so much with its delicious dinner with free flow drinks and alcohol and adequate breakfast buffet . The best part of it all was the star gazing activity . This time we came back armed with tripod and the big camera .
We were upgraded this time to a newly renovated triple huge room with a swing and a dining table . The toilet was amazing with a double sink and a lovely bathtub . Wifi was fast as usual .
What is lovely about this hotel are the extra pillows provided that you pick up at reception , ice machines on all levels near the lifts , a free flow of cocoa , tea or coffee and soft drinks on the ground floor . These are the extra touches that made this hotel special .
Onsens bath areas were I think newly renovated . The amenities in the indoor onsens were better than the outdoor onsen which was heavenly to bathe in looking out to the hills . You can try all sorts of products in the indoor onsen .
Overall , a most wonderful stay again .
