Staffs are very nice, but facilities are a bit old, overall a nice place to stay for a few days

I stayed at Hotel Umenoyu in Matsumoto City.
The good points are the good points
・ You can enter the spacious hot spring at your own convenience 24 hours a day.
・ The food must be delicious.
・ The recently renovated Western-style room is spacious and clean.
It may be boring for children, but I enjoyed Japanese ryokan.
I highly recommend it.
松本市にあるホテル梅の湯に宿泊しました。
良いところは良いところは、
①２４時間いつでも自分の都合で広々とした温泉に入れること。
②食事がおいしいこと。
③最近改装した洋室は、ひろびろとしてがきれいなこと。
子供さんには退屈かもしれませんが、日本の旅館を楽しめました。
ぜひともお勧めします。

Don't stay here if you are a foreigner

After some wonderful ryokan accommodation experiences during our Japan holiday this was such a disappointment. The location was chosen for us by OKU Japan and is far from the train station and in the suburbs above Matsumoto, so once you get there there is nothing around. We were greeted at reception by the rudest man we met during all our travels in Japan. The traditional room was characterless so we had an onsen bath and went down to the foyer to find something to drink. The man shouted at us that there were no drinks. No tea, no coffee, no beer, no sake; he crossed his arms in front of him and shouted 'no.' There was a machine for coffee which we had difficulty using (all in Japanese and no pictures to help us), and he seemed content to sit at the reception desk and watch us struggle. Dinner posed the same issues; menu only in Japanese. Thankfully with the help of the I-phone app of the waitress and our own app we finally managed to order something. Thanks to this lady for her patience and kindness.
Next morning we couldn't wait to get away. The same rude man didn't understand 'taxi' and shouted at us that only cash was accepted. My partner had to ask him to stop yelling. Very inappropriate behaviour. We left with the overall impression that this hotel is for Japanese and does not welcome foreigners. We are widely travelled and more than happy to try to accommodate other culture, customs and languages but this experience left a very bad impression. Thankfully in a two week trip it was the only poor hotel we experienced.

Good Service

The staff are very nice and helpful. Staff at front desk can speak English and Mandarin. They also helped us call taxi and gave us instruction on how to go to places. Food is good and more than enough. The room is comfortable too. It's a traditional Japanese ryokan with 24 hours public bath.
I will definitely refer others to stay here.

I will not stay in this ryokan, again.

I stayed this ryokan, but their facility was rubbish. No, small light, and I have to stay in dark room after I turn off the light. I'm sure I will die if I get any earthquake.
Also, I couldn't find any key of security box, and I called the front desk. They said it was broken! Then, don't let the customer stay!
The dinner was average, but not satisfied with the price itself.
Hot spring is also, average.
If I have any chance to come back to this hot spring area, I'm sure to stay any other ryokan!
