Only stayed for a night but the staff were super helpful and had some excellent views of Mount Fuji, we could see it super well from our rom, great for if you want to see the mountain

If you’re patient enough for 35minutes to check-in, then book it!

I have just checked in tonight.(30/3) I booked through Booking.com for one night and arrived the hotel around 21:40-21:45. First, the young male staff took my passport but not helping me check-in as seems he found an issue in their system but he didn’t notify us immediately what happened. Just asked us to keep waiting. Then maybe after 5-10 minutes, he seemed help from his senior, an old male manager. They had kept apologising for the delay in check-in but they still didn’t tell us what happened. They saw my booking details and found it in their system. Towards the end, he said the issue was someone stayed in my assigned room so in their logic they need to fix it before giving me a room. I asked them if that’s the only room they’re available and if they had room for me, they confirmed that they did have other rooms. However, they insisted that we needed to wait for them typing on computer and waiting for ages until their internal issue was solved. After 25minutes wait, the young male staff offered us bottled water to make us feel better but in my opinion it’s already too late for that. I should also highlight that the staff didn’t say anything but just slapped the water on the table, it’s not the customer service that I have known in Japan. I’m not expecting 5star service in a 3star hotel but it’s basic for me to at least hand in politely while he’s busy to solve the issue. We waited for almost half an hour until this point.
Finally, after I had made the final payment, the manager said it’s ready and took out the keys and stuff but actually he’s not ready yet. Then another few minutes wait again until we got our key and got to our room at 22:17. They did apologise a bit throughout that wait but for me it’s their stubborn attitude that caused the delay in check-in which is unacceptable.
If you said there’s a prisoner overstayed in my intended room and needed to kick him out by police/ some criminal cases happened here, I can feel the urgent of the case and wait patiently for the check-in. However, it’s just a mistake within their staff who gave my room to someone checked in earlier. It’s not the priority and they kept us waiting for no reason.
There are few more budget hotels nearby which you can go for too, no need to wait 35 minutes of your life for just checking in.

The room we got was old and dated but it had a view of Mt Fuji. I found it weird that we had to leave our shoes at the main lobby lockers and wear disposable slippers. The bathroom had mold.

The staff were very kind at this location. I did not mind removing our shoes before entering the guest floors since it kept things extermely sanitary. Breakfast was never overcrowed. City Hall is across the street and if it isn't cloudy, you'll get a great view of the mountain. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
