Best modern chic hotel room in New Zealand in three-week trip

We have been on a tour of New Zealand for 3 weeks: this hotel is by far the best . Modern thoughtful room with all sorts of extras such as smart dimmable lighting system, coffee machine, water and milk for free , plug everywhere , large storage in the bathroom , chic easy-to-use safe and also the air conditioning we have been able to exhibit . Are totally thrilled . Nothing is missing. Great.

No reading lamp!

Much to love in the room and bathroom but no reading lamp something I absolutely need. The associated coffee lounge and restaurants are very good too

Clean room, some small remarks. Rain shower did not work, handle stuck. Terrible noise from nightclub staying on 6th floor on a Saturday, calmed down around 3AM.
Not a great experience.

Brand new and noisy

The ILT have let customers down badly by not considering the excessive noise from the Boy Racers on Friday and Saturday nights, this is created by not collaborating with the developers and installing quality sound proofing during the build process, also the loud music playing until the early hours of the morning coming from another venue, Tillermans is directly across the road. Paid parking is a premium and excessive at $20.00 per night, valet must have thought our car was a race car and treated as such, we were given a plant to remember my Sister In Law we had her Funeral the day before, the contents of the container was spilled across the back of our car and the plant laying on it's side. The room got very hot during the night and required the Aircon to be turned on, it was Winter and Invercargill was at it's best cold. The bathroom is a poor design, with a huge window facing the room separated by a curtain, when you get up in the night the whole room lights up, the sliding door rattles when closed and had to be left open. Need to leave a decent sized water container in the fridge 300mls is not enough. The bed was firm and comfortable for me, it did get very hot during the night the duvet may have been a Winter weight. The front desk staff were faultless and friendly a very pleasant experience, the Hotel, smelt, looked and felt brand new. The food in the Restaurant was delicious and not some ponsy tiny meal on a huge plate, I had a Smashed meat Burger, this come with fries this was a good sized meal; these are a large portion a good Southland standard. The Langlands BIG Breakfast is the best and will keep you full for most of the day. We stayed against my Wife's best advice as I thought the Ascot is getting a bit dated.
