Good but with limitations.
The Royal Toulip is a 4* house on Al Marafah St. in Muscat. The location is central. Dining and shopping facilities are available around the hotel. The large shopping mall, Avenues Mall, is within walking distance.
Apart from the check in, which I think should be more friendly and service-oriented, I can't write anything negative about the hotel and its staff.
The room was large and clean, the restaurant is very good just like the breakfast buffet. The rooftop facility with pool and bar are also very nice.
In general, the hotel leaves a well-kept and clean impression.
What bothered me personally was the religious attitude of the hotel. The hotel is a "dry hotel" (No alcohol), which we did not know before and could not read anywhere. So, in the evening at the Roof Bar, what to drink with colleagues was not possible. In addition, we stayed there during Ramadan and the hotel was set accordingly. Again, we didn’t know that the Tulip chain is a pro-Islam chain in the Arab world. During the day, the Lobby Café was closed, smoking was only possible in a corner of the Roof Bar separated by large screens. The entrance to the restaurant (for breakfast or lunch) was screened with several large screens. And as was recommended at check in us, during the day not obviously eat or drink.
These restrictions have made me feel uncomfortable, as if I were not "a believer" there.
I believe that an International Hotel should fundamentally be a secular place.
Nothing more and nothing less.

Calm, cosy and beautiful hotel
We had a good and comfortable stay here. The cleanliness was quite acceptable, and the breakfast was decent with enough options. What we appreciated most was the staff's polite and professional behavior. Considering the reasonable price, the overall quality of the hotel was totally worth it. It’s a good choice for a hassle-free and affordable stay
