Clean and in a good location

La Posada del Conde is Comfortable and a short walk from the Plaza de Armas. My room was simple but clean. Service is friendly.
Breakfast starts at 7am but when I wanted to leave earlier Jorge got me breakfast at 5:30. Meals are available and offer a selection of several options from a menu.

Very slow restaurant

I am just letting this comment to share our experience at this hostel. We arrived at the restaurant at 8pm. We ordered food and water. We received our soups 2 hours later, even if patient, we were really hungry. Regarding the water, after waiting a long time and asking a few times for it to different people, they finally tell us they don’t have water anymore. In the end, we received our main plate 2h45 after arriving at the restaurant, and it was cold. The waiter was not even here anymore so we had to go to the kitchen ourselves to take the plates .. however, the receptionist gave us a discount for the dinner. Except the restaurant, the accommodation was ok. I will just not recommend the restaurant if you want to eat something fast before a day of trek in the canyon.

Freezing and very basic

No heating at all, of any kind! I really got frozen...
The overall look is quite shabby: you can overcome this (at least you have hot water) but it is definitely too cold not to provide an electric heater in the room.
Meals are very very basic.
I do not know if better alternatives exist in the village but I would say ok if you are equipped and stay only 1 night.

Good start for the Colca Canyon

Stayed here for one night before we go to Colca Canyon. It was a good stay and the staff was really helpfull despite they don't speak so good English.
They have their own restaurant that make a fine dinner and breakfast.
Will recommend it if you want to do the Colca Canyon on your own.

Comfortable and good value

Pleasant room, with a comfortable bed and a good hot shower. There was a heater in the room and we were also offered extra blankets which we didn't need. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast (included) was basic but adequate; we had dinner in the restaurant one evening and it was fine with good service. Good value for money.
