The most magical stay on Uros Island
I never imagined I’d spend the night on a floating reed island but Joel and his family made it one of the most extraordinary and deeply moving experiences of our entire lives.
The dome house is absolutely stunning. The bedding was plush and cozy, and despite being on a floating island in the middle of Lake Titicaca, we had hot water, a compost toilet, and a propane heater to keep us warm. Every night, Joel personally brought us hot water bottles wrapped in blankets to tuck under our covers against the biting cold. It’s the kind of thoughtfulness you simply can’t manufacture, it comes straight from the heart.
His wife’s breakfasts and dinners were delicious and made us feel like welcomed family. The dried muna and coca leaf tea was the perfect touch for the altitude and the chill. Joel arranged our tours of the floating island and Taquille Island, took us out for fishing demonstrations, and handled every logistical detail flawlessly, including the little details like having a heater running on his small boat during our early morning frost cold departure to the airport. Not one detail was overlooked.
Joel is a man of few words, but his warmth and genuineness speak volumes. He and his family worked so hard to make sure our stay was comfortable, meaningful, and memorable. This experience left its mark on our hearts in the most beautiful way, and we will carry it with us forever.

A 10/10 experience
It was a great experience, Joel's attention was very good, he was in charge of coordinating transfer, tour to Taquile Island, they offered dinner that was exquisite and to say breakfast 10/10. The room is as is the photos and even better, seeing the sunsets or stars in the early morning is unpayable, with the design of the rooms a unique experience is achieved.
Joel in the evenings brought us bottles with hot water and understood the heating so we were very comfortable.
You should not miss the opportunity to live the experience of staying in the floating, real islands of Uros

Stunning
What an amazing place!! The accommodation is stunning and the host very attentive, took me for a tour of the island and a walk at sunset, in addition to having arranged the return taxi to Porto.

Wonderful location and great hospitality!
Absolutely fantastic experience.
Joel and Luz are extremely wonderful hosts, who really make you feel at home.
We unfortunately only stayed for one night due to our itinerary, but so far it has been the most hospitable place we have stayed in whilst in Peru. Joel organized us transport, a tour and provided excellent home cooked meals.
I wish we could have had the time to spend another night in this wonderful location run by such lovely people.

An unforgettable experience
From the first minute we arrived at the place everything was wonderful, Joel the
Very friendly owner and his wife too, always taking care of even the smallest details, due to the cold of the area Joel left us a heater in the room and also did not bring bottles with hot water.
The stay, the service, everything has been magical and the meals delicious.
And to make the experience even more unforgettable, Joel did not take us for a boat ride around the island.
100% recommended, they are the best at what they do. We will definitely return to this wonderful lodge.
