A fake 5 star experience - awful hotel!

This establishment advertises itself as a small, luxury 5 star hotel & spa. In reality it is an old historic house with no lift, portable air-conditioning, poor hygiene, a broken shower in our room and no spa or wellness facilities at all. BEWARE - the spa is not connected to the hotel - it is a local wellness centre which was closed for renovations when we visIted. Congratulations to the hotel for some great photography and marketing, but this place is a quaint 3 star B&B at best, don't be fooled and don't go when it's hot!

AWFUL! Stay away

AWFUL! It’s NOT a hotel, it’s an old run down house with no modern facilities that pretends to be a 5 star hotel. Stay away! The 2 bedroom penthouse we booked is not fit for guests. No lift , very hot and only portable AC in some parts of the house. You step into the bedroom, everything is dusty and tired , then another set of stairs to the bathroom ( shower head was broken and no shelf no door ) then more stairs to what I would describe as a dark and dingy broom cupboard where 2 single beds have been crammed … no spa as advertised !
the only positive experience was dealing with sweet Olena who was trying to help us relocate into a proper hotel … next time I will read every single review … this hotel particulier has to stop doing false advertising …

Small, tastefully decorated hotel in the centre of Aix-en-Provence.

Small (4 rooms!) very tastefully decorated hotel in the city center of Aix-en-Provence with the charm of an old, ageing building. Centrally located, sights within walking distance.
Rich breakfast.

Stay away! IT IS ANYTHING BUT A Five-Star Luxury Hotel

Booked a four-night stay w/another couple. Our room was 340 Euros/night! Did not realize when booking this hotel it was a HOME, lived in by the Owners and their family, with 6 rooms. It is OLD, TIRED, WORN OUT, and in some areas Dirty. No A/C; carpet worn/dirty; shower would not drain properly (safety issue); mold in shower; no elevator/lift (it is 3 stories); bathroom door height too low (creating another safety issue for anyone over 6 ft. tall); no on-premise restaurant. After 1 night met w/Owner who stated "there is nothing we can do" to remedy our concerns. She suggested opening the windows (which we had already done) resulting in swarms of Mosquitos eating us alive and noise from the local bars from 1 to 3 AM. NO SLEEP!. After one night-Told the Owners we were shortening our stay from 4 to 2 nights-she offered a one-night refund from the four we booked then, after we departed she RENEGED and has refused to refund anything (even tho the reservation was NOT advance pay-no refund). Untruthful and Unethical on the part of the Owners (as it's all about money). This hotel advertises itself as a "5-star luxury hotel". It is anything but that. It is a HOME, like an AirBNB, for the Owner and a few unfortunate guests. You can do a lot better elsewhere. In a normal hotel the Owners/Management would refund the entire stay. These Owners lied to us. Lack of any character.
